We will be doing Pirate's League with all 3 of our kids (3, 4, and 8) in May. We have never done it before and want to get the most out of it. The older 2 are boys and the littlest is a girl. She is pretty girlie, but she says she wants to do pirate, not mermaid. For those of you who have participated, do you have recommendations on the best packages and also the best way to handle the dressing up factor? It will be mid-May, so probably hot. Should I do Mickey pirate t-shirts or do a lot of people do pirate costumes? I imagine their prices are ridiculous? And would there even be anything small enough for my TINY 3 year old? She is barely in a 2T. Additionally it is DS4's birthday, so I really want it to be special. All 3 of mykids are outgoing and love attention. Anyone have good pictures to share?

I can't give a tonne of input as we will be doing this in June when we go. But check eBay for costumes/t-shirts etc... You can get some great deals on outfits, in a whole range of sizes.

My boys did Pirate's League while wearing just their regular clothes. I had thought about having them wear something more "piratey," but I basically just let it slide because I was busy with other things, didn't get around to it, etc. They looked great even with their regular clothes on. The package includes a sash that covers a lot of their shirt anyway. When it is hot, they advise against getting the "skeleton face" since it can be hot with all that make-up. My DS4 insisted on getting the skeleton face anyway and he didn't complain at all about being hot/uncomfortable, but that's just him. To get the most of it, we made our appointment shortly after park opening (with time beforehand to ride POC), so they could wear their pirate faces all day. They really enjoyed the attention. Also be sure to do Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial while they are dressed up! [Edited to add: I guess I don't know how to add photos. I clicked the "Upload a File" button, but it didn't work. Anyone know what I need to do?]

We've done it twice. The first time my boys just did the makeover and it was $20-30 each. The last time my oldest went all out with the Jack Sparrow costume but my youngest just got a pirate tshirt and the makeover. With costumes you can expect to spend $60 per kid at least. I really don't remember how much it cost for the costume but I'm pretty sure it was at least $50 plus the makeover. I'm almost certain you can get that information beforehand from a thread here or from Disney themselves. You can always take your own costume if budget is a concern but T shirts are perfectly fine as well. You'll see people doing both. You said your kids loved attention so it shouldn't bother them to be dressed to the max as pirates so I would probably do a costume. My oldest got the Jack Sparrow hat which included dreadlocks and after about 30 minutes he was totally self conscious about everyone looking at him and his little brother ended up wearing the hat! I would upload a picture if I knew how but it didn't seem to work!

We did it in November, my kids had "kind of" piratey t-shirts on, but it was cold so the sweatshirts covered it up. We did not spend anything extra for the dress up clothes etc and I thought they looked fantastic. For the 2 of them it came to about $75 if I remember correctly.

ETA: Not sure why my pics aren't showing, sorry :( My kids got tons of attention, not just from CM's, but from other guests. Other "pirates" would challenge them to sword fights etc. It was very cool.
