OK, so I am on the Disboards DAILY!! How did I NOT know about The Pirates League? Has anyone done this? Feedback? Did you love it???????

TIA!!

My DD who is 4 did it in November and loved it! It was a great experience!!!

We did the biggest package (mostly because it was half-price at the time). It included- make-up, nails painted, face jewels (for boys they had all sorts of pirate face make-up including an all white skeleton face the boy next to us was getting), tatoo, a dress, sword, sash for the sword, hat, jewels in a bag, 3 pictures, and an official certificate.

They give each child a pirate name in the beginning and the CMs are REALLY into their roles and play up their pirate-ness. It was well themed inside and IMO much better than the experience we had the year before at the Bibbiddi Boppidi Boutique. It also was almost empty when we did it and reservations were easily made that day...I'm not sure if that has changed.

Let me know if you have more questions!

DS and I did this last month. We loved it. My pirate was really into character. He was great and so much fun. I guess it kinda helped that he had a real british accent. My DS's wasn't as into it and wasn't very playful. DS did smokey eyed Jack. He looked fantastic. He loved the eye make up. When it was time to wash it all off at night he was mad. I wasn't able to get all of the eye make up off and he was really happy about that.

DS & I did it and had so much fun. I brought his costume though since it was only $7 at the PX and not the full price there. He got the whole face too (cursed pirate), and did really well sitting still for her. He was Soloman Backscratcher and I was Charlotte Plankgun. We got all sorts of things from it (i got the lipstick, nail polish and facial jewels to take home, he & I both got a sword/belt, eye patch, bandanna, and a piece of cpt jack's treasure.) They also give you a picture w/ every package and they give you a photopass number to add it to your photopass account.

DS3 and DN9 had it done in December. It was the highlight of their trip. DN's pirate wasn't very good and he messed up her Empress eye makeup but she didn't notice and was having a great time so we didn't say anything. We were there in December and got the discount, but I thought it would have been well worth it at full price. We did bring a costume from home for DS.

One word of advice is to bring along eye makeup remover or don't have them apply the black eyeliner. I could not get it off DS for several days (including two visits to the pool and several baths). He looked like a goth pre-schooler for most of our trip (including his pictures with Santa). The rest of the makeup came off fine with a little soap and water.

OMG ours too. LOL. What was worse is he wore a black shirt the whole day after his costume came off.

My 3 kids did it in September and had a blast!! They did the Pirates League and the Pirate Cruise (at the Grand Floridian), and the League was their favorite by far. The make-up does end up smearing afterwards, but I think it is the experience itself that you go for.

Thanks ya'll! I can't wait! Did ya'll make reservations or just show up?

We made reservations for DS, but when they asked if I wanted to join since it was half off they took me right back. We got the 9am one, so we passed through a special entrance at the gate and they were waiting for us at the entrance to Adventureland.

We made a reservation for our DD but they were taking walk-ups when we were there in November

My boys, 6 and 3, really had a great time with it. They got attention everywhere they went in the park all day long. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but for the half price it was well worth it. I would recommend ressies, basically because it takes at least an hour to go through everything. That's a nice chunk out of your day believe it or not. I'd assume if you are walk up you'll be given a time to come back (it was pretty busy when we were there), and the ressie would save you that extra trip over. pirate:

My GF's 9 year old daughter wants to do this. My GF called me asking about it. She said the daughter talked about finding treasure. I think that she maybe talking about the cruise. After talking to her and her saying it was $49.99 I am sure she means the PL. Other than the makeup is there anything else you get?

was there a code or something that got you 1/2 price?

With the basic package (49.99) you get the makeover. They also give some little trinkets in a pouch (DN got lip gloss, nail polish, etc). They get bandanas, pirate earring, sword and belt and a pirate medallion. You get a very nice professional picture in a nice sleeve. They also got a really cool pirate certificate with the pirate oath on it.

The 50% was a promotion they were running for resort guests, AP holders and DVC members during December. I believe it ended 1/3.

You do have to "find" Cpt Jacks treasure for you in the room where you get your pics taken, but its really easy.

my youngest did the pirates league before the Halloween party in September He got the makeover with all the eyes. the extra eyes they add are temporary tatoos so he had extra eyes a few days they would have come off he just wanted to keep them.

we had our own costume since the whole family was doing a pirate look for the party

here are a couple pictures sorry the 1st one is sideways
