I watched this on the Today Show this morning, and just kept thinking that the whole thing seemed wierd, including the way she was sitting and acting while she was being interviewd.

I always like to believe that people are telling the truth, but this time, eh, not so sure she is.

When I heard about the story on the news this morning, I was getting ready for work and was just so sad for her. But, now having watched the interview on the Today show I don't think a word of what she is saying is true.

Did anyone see them both go out on Jet Skis? If so, there's no way she could do something with his jet ski while driving her own. So it would still be out there somewhere right Should be fairly easy to find.

So, since we all seem to be in agreement that this story is probably fake.. the real question is: what happend to her husband?!

Is he actually missing (opens up a whole new can of worms with the Mrs. looking rather suspicious..) or is this some 15 minutes of fame hoax that he's in on?

When I first saw this I caught a glimpse of her that made me suspicious but then it was just an feeling. There was a family interviewed on a news show a few months ago. They were kidnapped by Mexican criminals after having gone into Mexico for a day trip. They were made to lie down on the ground- they all thought they'd be killed- but the criminals left and they were allowed to live. The woman on the Today show was defintely hinky but I don't know how I'd react in this type of situation. I'll reserve judgment although I'm leaning in the BS direction.

I called bs on this the first time I heard and was after seeing her on the Today show this morning. I'm thinking "why are they covering THIS?" ...like I didn't know...

It'll come out and those poor parents and sister will be devastated. They are who I feel sorry for.

They did an interview with an "eyewitness" that says he saw three boats chasing her jet ski.


He did not want to appear on camera and would not give his name. His story sounded weird. He said he was out in the backyard of a house on the lake. He said he was out watering plants. Yet she said the assault happened on the Mexican side, miles away. He seemed to be faking an accent because at times he sounded hispanic. In fact the interviewer commented on this.

It sounds like a planned murder, maybe her boyfriend was the "witness".

I am just glad that I am not the only one who feels like this story is a lie. I don't buy it for a minute.

Nancy Grace is talking about it right now. She says that she believes her!

shes a pretty smart lady though....perhaps "luring the wife in to "talk about it" at which time Police watch like crazy and see the inconsistancies...
I was shocked when I heard it...then I was able to "listen to her interview this am on today show. I did not see it, but her voice was steady, sounded so ODD to me...the poor mom and sis broke my heart....eventually it will all come to light, but I must say...I am leery of her story...regardless...it is tragic and sad for his Loving mom and sis...

Sure... she just had a couple of people say that they don't believe the story and she acted like it made her mad. They said that the husband had on a life vest and the jet ski is designed to float so they should have found the body & the jet ski. She also said that she knew of the dangers. That's all they said. It is going off.

I have a hard time believing that she was able to turn him over in the water. He is SO much bigger than she is.

thanks for the update. I just watched the interview from this am...strange reaction..just strikes me as odd........I hope they get to the bottom of it....and I think it will be different than what she is alleging.................the only good thing is... with her interviewing and getting "face time" the authorities can really track everything she does and says........heres hoping for closure for the family...

I agree it does have its fair share of suspicions, BUT there have been several I believe 5 mishaps on that particular lake since April?... The part that concerns me is why would we, Americans still rent out boating vehicles on a lake that is known for foul play...Shame on the rental compnay..ANd second wouldn't there be some paperwork saying 2 waverunners were rented?? And also wouldn't then the rental company say it might be safer to stay on the American side just so their property doens't get stolen??? I own a waverunner myself, and I consider myself in decent shape, but let me tell you falling off the waverunner and then reboarding it can be a chore in itself. My DH always laughs at me when I have to get on it in deep water. My upper strangth isn't that strong. So for her to jump off and check her DH and then get back on and speed away all while a boat is coming at her with guns drawn, yeah thats where I am suspicious....I do hope that she is not lying because well that would be even more painful for the family....Looking forward to seeing how this story pans out in the next few weeks...

I am glad so many agree something is fishy. i was a little hesitant about starting this thread myself as well, but I like these threads because they help put the facts and stories better than any article I ever find. As more info is leaked, we'll see it unravel I am sure. Nite!

I have to agree with this. She also said that they came up and put a gun to her head (which was not mentioned earlier, but rememered later) but then they drove away. Then she said that they chased her back. If they could have killed her too, they would have so why chase her? Also, the news reported that he was shot in the back of the head, but in her interview she pointed to her forhead.

First, I want the media to STOP calling them pirates. Arrrrrgh! If they existed at all, they are not freaking pirates, they are part of the Mexican drug cartel system. They kill as easily as they breathe.

I need to watch video of her. Is she a "dry crier"? If she's a dry crier, she's guilty as sin.....They always are. You know, they make crying sounds, dab at nonexistent tears, scrunch up their faces.....but no tears will ever be seen.

Could someone on the Mexican side open fire on Americans (or anyone) for no apparent reason? Lord, yes. It happens more frequently than you'd think. They've had incidents in that very lake over the past year or two. Step a toe over the border and your life is not worth a plug nickle.

If an American was murdered, would the Mexican police do everything possible to solve the crime? Uhhhhh.....No. No, they wouldn't, especially if they suspected a drug cartel was involved. Mexican police are often on their payroll and if they're not, they're scared crapless that if they go after the cartels, not only will their lives be on the line, but so will the lives of their families. Maybe it's not worth it to stick their neck out (and risk the lives of their wives and children) for an American tourist.

Again, most of American has NO idea what it's like just across the border. I believe it was the Juarez newspaper that recently published a letter to the cartels that roughly translates as, "What do you want from us?" So many Mexican journalists are now being targeted (yes, that means murdered) for reporting drug cartel crimes, that some are beginning to STOP reporting the crimes. So maybe in the future, we will be lulled into believing these crimes are happening less often, when in reality we're just not hearing about them because a journalist prefers to keep breathing.

However, if I was going to kill my husband and was near the border, blaming it on the drug cartels might just be a plan.

I guess what I'm saying is......Yes, she may have done it. I haven't looked her over, so I won't pass judgment yet. But don't put ANYTHING past the drug cartels there. They are out of control.
