pirates II opening 7/7/06

Has anybody heard of any special events happening on 7/7 in wdw for the opening of Pirates II? My family and I will be there that whole week.

I would also be interested to know whether anything special is going on that week. I will be there with my family as well. Pirates is such a great ride . . . I am excited to see what they have done with it.

They had been talking about doing the premere at WDW but I guess DL got it again. Anyone want to guess what the opening take will be that w/e? I think it may beat Spiderman.

If your talking about the one in WDW pirates opening which i think you are. There is going to be a meet and greet Captain Jack Sparrow! I can't wait!

Pirates will open in soft opening before July 7th.

I've heard officially soft-opening July 1st. But possibly earlier, it all depends on whether they get it done or not.

Then the 'official debut' is on the 7th.

As for Imax, i know the theater on Channelside in Tampa is showing pirates in imax. And i will be there dressed like a pirate and drunk on rum. Not sure about an Imax theater in O-town.

Tampa is only an hour away if you are renting a car...

Sorry been out of town for a while. Getting back to my original question, was more for the movie opening, with anything special on that day be going on in teh mk?

The Primier at DL is on June 24th. They already have the grandstand up and they're working on the screen. It has fantasmic and TSI shut down for it. The ride opens to the public along with the Blue Bayou on the 26th. Hopefully Cafe Orleans with it's better and cheaper menu will open then as well. There will be a lot going on at DL at that time.

I don't think WDW is getting much of anything since it's version of the ride and it's version of the changes are inferior. The hoopla is mainly at DL.
