This may make you want to cancel your next WDW trip...some of the things they do here are so much more next level than anything at WDW currently that I can think of. The animatronics are amazing.

It's amazing what you can do with a bottomless pit of cash.

Thanks for sharing this link. Looks absolutely amazing. Not cancelling my next trip to WDW, but a future visit to China might need to include a stopover in Shanghai!

It's fantastic that local investors are willing to pour so much investment into the parks in Shanghai and Tokyo. I hope Disney is able to bring more of the benefits of that innovation to their new attractions in the US.

P.S. So sad to find out that those guys in the jail never did get the keys away from that dog. Always wondered if they would!

I'm a stickler for the original pirates theme but I will admit my heart wept a bit watching this. It look absolutely amazing. Sadly, I'll never get to experience it in person as I won't be travelling abroad to visit Disney.

On a side note, though in relation to the video, it still astounds me how many people video these kinds of things. The scene where you first see Davy Jones in the video it looks like everyone on the boat has their phones out videoing. Why? We did these kinds of things back in the 80's and early 90's (with shoulder sized video cameras, mind you) but there was no internet back then. Now, you don't have to video stuff anymore or even take scenic pics for that matter. Its already out there on the internet! I stopped videoing and taking pics a LONG time ago unless it was something specific to my family. Its just so easy to find what you want to see on the internet now.

Good lord that guy is obnoxious, and I was not expecting this to be so based around the movies, which is a little disappointing. Maybe I set my expectations too high for this.

This makes me really want to visit the new park next year instead of taking a few trips to WDW. I love that it's so focused around the movies! Are there ways to hear the ride in English once there? Like the listening devices they offer for other languages at WDW?

One of these days, when I win the lottery, I'm doing Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Paris. [Edited because I realized this sentence was political and that's not allowed here.]

That is pretty awesome, I'm envious. I can't tell in the video I watched but it looks like the boat might go backwards at some point? I dunno too dark... But I like that if the future of rides is giant movie screens that they also kept some nice animatronics in there too.

I think everyone has their phones out as it's still a few weeks till the park opens, everything is new, changes might be made in the future. They were part of something special, I can imagine you want to record that.

Other question, you don't have to travel abroad specifically to visit Disney. Why not visit China, it is an interesting country, with interesting culture, history and nature completely different from the Western world. And while you are in Shanghai, spend one or two days in Disney.

There are a few fascinating things I'd want to see in China but I'm not willing to be on a flight that long.

Ah, that I can understand :) And there is unfortunately not much you can do about that.

Only option then is to travel around the world and do 'short' flights, 6-7 hours okay for you? New York - London is 6-7 hours, from there to Dubai, also 6-7 hours, on to Delhi, 3 hours, onto Shang Shanghai 5 -6 hours. Then onto Tokyo (Visit Disney :D ) 3 hours, to Honolulu 7,5 hours, to Los Angeles, 5 hours. (the otherway around works too, but with the different time zones, I prefer to fly from West to East.)

Or... what also could work... how about a cruise? Disney only has Transatlantic once a year on the Magic. But there are Transpacific cruise lines as well. Of course longer than a flight, but a lot more freedom to move and entertainment and restaurants.

There must be a way to get you to see Disney Shanghai :)
