When we went (last August), it was assigned seating. And probably 40-50 people on the boat? The boat was full, but didn't feel crowded...

I assume this has been said by page 2, but one thing to keep in mind... you can't see the castle at all (it's obstructed by where they idle the boat). The fireworks are cool, but HEA minus the castle is a bit lacking to me, at least. But we liked P&P a lot, just not ideal if you care a lot about HEA itself.
