So I am thinking my husband would look great with a long pirate piston in his belt.
For good reasons I think we might not be able to bring toy guns or swords..
Am I correct???pirate:pirate:pirate:

We purchased a toy sword and toy pirate pistol in one of the shops on the ship. If you want to bring something with you, you probably can as long as you adhere to TSA guidelines.

I read somewhere that it can't look too much like a real weapon. So a sword might be ok as long as it is very obviously a toy.

We brought a toy sword and toy pistol with us on the plane with no problems. No problems on tne cruise either.

On my last Disney cruise during the evening show, the little boy behind me kept trying to chop my head off with his sword. My hair was real messed up and his mommy just ignored him. pirate: If I could ban little rascals from attacking people with them I would, but DCL allows anyone to have a sword (as long as it's not too real looking)

I was considering bringing my flintlock pistol but according to DCL "realistic replicas of firearms and weapons" are not allowed. I really don't feel comfortable risking packing something that is not allowed.

That's weird, they definitely sold this stuff on the ship when we last cruised.

Yes, they do sell flintlock toys on the ship but my flintlock although not operational is metal with real wood and has the weight of a real weapon. I just wouldn't want to risks brining it.

You are very patient. I would have told mommy to move her little pirate to a different seat or I would take his sword away and give it back at the end of the show.

I imagine the worst that would happen is they would demand to hold it until you disembarked. Unlike at the airport where they will trash it if you can't mail it back to yourself! *hmph*

This is the one I plan to bring. It is plastic but gets confused for vintage by people just looking at it tucked in my belt as a prop:

Maybe if you are crafty, and don't want to fret about your more substantial flintlock, you could make one like I did?
