I was too when I heard about it, since we were there the month before it was scrapped.

From what I remember, the Dutchman had been tied up in Freeport after her role in At Worlds End. The movie division didnt have plans for the ship so the cruise line asked for her. But they never did anything short of towing her CC and putting her on a sand bar. Ideally, they should have tried to do something to protect her from the sun( if they can put a bottom paint on the ships that reduces drag, and fuel consumption by 10% and doesnt have to be redone for 20 years other then normal cleaning I think they could have found something) so she would last then either add on to her (tours walk the deck etc) or make her her own exibit in a different part of the island.

Am I the only one that absolutely HATED the sight of that thing?? We were on the very cruise that started it all, we woke up one morning to it at CC, and everyone was so excited for it the night before in the theatre. I wanted to at the sight of it that they were ruining paradise for me. Ugh I just hated it, SO very happy it's gone.
