Lobby, pool, etc. we have an upcoming stay at CBR (pirate room) and keep hearing how far they are from everything. Are they comparable in distance to Ariel rooms at AOA? We’ve stayed in Ariel section twice and never thought it was that far.

I have not stayed in either section but I have stayed at both resorts and walk around.

You know it also depends on which floor you get, if you 1st building or the very last etc.

In my mind they are somewhat comparable. If Disney called me and said sold out evrery where but these 2 rooms, distance would not be the deciding factor. I like LM more than pirates id pick that. Both have Skyliner access so that’s a plus.

Well it’s not that I’m deciding between the 2. We are staying at CBR just trying to get a feel for how far it is from Pirate rooms. I’ve stayed at Ariel before so just trying to get a reference.

We stayed in both AOA Family suite and the pirate room, one of us using a walker. Pirate room was much more noticeable a walk. It’s near exactly nothing.

I am part of a CBR resort group on Facebook, and there have been quite a few people on there that have stayed in the Pirate rooms, and said they loved the location due to proximity to the main Skyliner hub. If I were staying there, I would request building 34-36, those are the closest and probably a 4-5 min walk (and also closest to Old port royale). I think if you were fine with AOA rooms, you will be fine with the pirate ones.

I have stayed in both an Ariel room and a pirate rooms at CBR.

I thought the distance to the main pools and lobby with the food choices was about the same. The Pirate room was actually fairly close to a bus stop, a quiet pool and a freestyle Coke machine which made refilling mugs easy. The pool had a grille that served a decent selection of food but it has not reopened since the Coivd shutdown. The Skyliner had not yet opened when I stayed in those rooms but on a map walking to the stations seems comparable.

However, the Ariel rooms have a queen bed and a queen table and the pirate rooms have full beds (aka a double bed). Also the Ariel rooms at POP have only one bus stop and the CBR has multiple stops so depending on whether you are coming or going from the pirate rooms you have one or more stops inside the resort. The Ariel rooms in general are a lot of plain concrete/grass while the pirate rooms and the CBR as a moderate have more gardens, and landscaping including tables and benches.

Pirate rooms can be far from things. We were stuck in furthest out and it was a hike to pool and main lobby. Skyline was about ten minutes. At night it was far. Also pirate room beds are bad. Thin mattress on a board no box springs plus small in size.

Stayed in Pirates twice and they are a long walk from the main pool. One night we opted to get in our car and drive off to another resort to eat because we didn't want to walk to the food court, with littles it was easier. We also opted to drive to parks because of the bus system. Haven't utilized the Skyliner. And the pirate beds are cute but tight, I'd want the queens. It's a room we won't book again.

NOTE: The whole reason they themed those rooms is because no one wanted to stay there because how far they were ... I mean they are next to POP Century. Unfortunately they didn't factor in when they renovated CBR to queens they were stuck with the pirate boat beds as fulls.
