As soon as school was out we gathered up all the critters and started this adventure!
We set out at 3:30 .only 30 minutes later than we wanted and that isnt bad, when trying to get 10 people out of the house!! Yes, we are missing one person. Pirate Mickey was fortunate enough to travel to WDW by plane from a business trip and it left the 10 of us on the road! I WILL get him back one of these days for him flying and me driving 11 hours with 4 kids in a car! Anyway, we did get a late start .What can I say, it was my fault, I forgot to turn off the water valves and had to deal with it.
I would have hated for a pipe to bust while we were on vacation and come home to that mess! We only made 2 stops in 7 hours. Bathroom break only and hour and half down the road and dinner somewhere in the middle of it! NOT BAD even if I do say so myself!! We stopped at the Fairfield Inn in Brunswick for the night!
It was a great evening other than the fact that Cheergirl Jess tossed and turned all night and kept Charlie and I awake with her tossing and turning!! Of course, 30 minutes before time to get up, SHE falls sound asleep and WE have to get up! So Charlie and I did what any loving Mom and brother would do! WE POUNCED on her, tickled her and made HER shower first! We are so sweet and loving! After a NOT so quick breakfast and me losing the CD case with the DVDs and hunting it we got off to another late start! I really hope this isnt a foreboding of what is to come on this trip!When we are about 2 hours from Orlando, Pirate
calls me on the cell to tell me the EAGLE has landed! Ok, so it is just a plane! Humor me here! He decides that we are WAY to far away for him to wait for us to pick him up from the airport, so he goes with his plan to have Mears Shuttle pick him up! To make a long story short, he actually arrives at the condo where we are staying about 15 minutes BEFORE we get there! Yes, Mears had some issues. They put him on the wrong shuttle; the driver had no clue where the condo was (even though it was on their website as a travel location). They dont know I have lots of friends and I DO WRITE trip reports! Surprisingly enough Pirate was happy even AFTER his ordeal. Perhaps because he hadnt seen his family in 2 weeks! I have never been so happy to see one man in my life!! I handed him the car keys..whispering, I am done driving, with a wry laugh! After checking out the condo, unloading things and getting settled in we headed to Downtown Disney to wander around and relax! Little did we know that when the kids put their lanyards on something happened to our sweet kids!
