Pirate Night No More?

I heard from someone a recent cruise that Pirate Night is no longer and that a new menu is in its place. Anyone know?

The pirate menu is alive and well. Instead of the usual pirate night, they're doing a "Buccaneer Takeover". Basically, you get a short show during dinner, bandanas at dinner, the pirate menu, and then fireworks later that night. The fireworks aren't pirate themed, though, and there's no deck party. The serving crew still dresses like pirates and you're encouraged to do so if you'd like to. And you still get gold coins for bed chocolates.

So... pirate night without the deck party and midnight buffet, I guess.

On a recent cruise, they were told pirates would be no more in the new year. Will be interested to see.

We just got off the Magic yesterday. We had the full pirate menu, bandanas handed out at dinner, a little pirate takeover show in the dining room, and all the characters seen around the ship in their pirate gear, available for photo ops. No deck party or fireworks (though we had a Marvel Day at Sea with fireworks, I think there would have been some short fireworks on pirate night elsewise). Many, MANY guests came fully decked out in pirate gear, it seemed like many more than on our previous cruise. People who are cruising right now are super into it!

Just off the Dream and basically the same thing except we did have fireworks on Pirate night since there was no Marvel Day at Sea. I don't think there were a ton of people dressed up, but we saw a few. I was trying to pack light, so I didn't bring us anything.

Week before and after our cruise got bandannas. But not our Fantasy cruise.

We sailed the Fantasy the second week of this month and there was no "pirate event." We dined in Enchanted Garden...we had a pianist playing during dinner. No bandanas, no takeovers, no special menu, no costumed staff. The only acknowledgement of pirate night was guests in costume and a few characters like Chip and Dale, Capt. Hook and Sneed. If there was more than that, I missed it.

I wonder if that's because the Fantasy has Star Wars Day instead, though.

Except for SW trivia and every Star Wars movie know, did you feel(as an adult) you had a special cruise for SW? It felt to me like a kids cruise for SW Disney entertainment and little for a Family(for every age group young and old) I’ve always felt magical in the past but maybe it’s heavy Covid influence over our trip that left me…feeling Meh.

If it is more than 3 night, your chances are better. They are definitely not happening on any under 4 night.

Sure, the Fantasy cruises are usually 7-night cruises. Unfortunately, it sounds like the last two Fantasy 7-night cruises didn't have bandanas and the little pirate show at dinner. :(

The 1/28 Wonder had pirate dinner menu with the pirate takeover, bandanas, characters in attire, a deck party, and fireworks, but not the the pirate takeover show on deck. I fogot to check for the buffet...

Our Fantasy cruise the first week of January didn't have a pirate night or menu. I was surprised. But I didn't mind since I don't like the pirate menu.

We were just talking about this tonight. My mom has a whole costume planned… carried over from our canceled cruise in 2020. She was shocked/sad to hear there might night be a big pirate night anymore. I told her that she should bring it and we will just have our own pirate night if we need to!! pirate:
