My family has always thought that pirate night was lame!!
Wow, I sure hope your disappointment was expressed on the feedback form. We leave in 12 days for the Dream 9/10 4 night cruise. I’m still not happy with the elimination of the single rider jetskis on castaway cay. They now only have double rentals so if you’re riding single you have to pay the double price to rent a double.... needless to say, my husband didn’t book it
As a follow up to my post above, here is the Navigator for the August 11 sailing of the Fantasy. Fireworks were definitely between dinner shows
The ship can only carry X amount of fireworks onboard. The show as it is isn't all that long. Splitting it in two would make 2 really short shows.
Just curious, is there a port day between Pirate night and Marvel Day at Sea?The Magic does fireworks both nights when they do MDAS, so there'd be room for two fireworks shows as long as it isn't MDAS.
On the Palo reservations - yes, you have to cancel your reservation to see what available times there are.I booked Palo on pirate night for our November cruise. Thinking we would skip the MDR but still see fireworks. So that won’t happen now.
Wonder how many others do the same. And the other thing is you can’t see if there are other open times for Palo if you already have one booked right?
Christopher Robin premiered the week before on August 3. I would love to know if the cruise after us had fireworks at 7:30. When i inquired, the CD seemed to think this was the schedule for the time being as the sun was setting earlier. One thing that I noticed on the navigator was that this was the same night as Christopher Robin premiered (if I'm reading it right). Since that was the nightly show and it takes longer than 60 minutes, they may have just moved things around for this particular sailing to accommodate both the Movie Premier and the Pirate night show/fireworks.
Have people encountered it on the other ships/dates also?
Maybe we will try Star Wars day at seas cruise before they ruin that too.

It was a week after the premiere and we went to the movie that night and ran up the stairs after and there was nowhere left. We were late for our second seating dinner.
It doesn’t work this way.
But they do fireworks on sea day on a SWDAS cruise. So wonder how far away we are from land then? We are never far away from other ships thoughA couple other interesting things I learned: I always wondered why it wasn’t done on a sea day. Turns out they have a distance from land/Port they want to be within in case of a problem. They also have to notify all area sea traffic before and afterwards so they don’t mistake them as distress flares.
In my experience, it's not unusual for there to be a movie running in the WDT on Pirate night. As many of the entertainment CMs are involved with the pirate night events on deck.there was a movie playing instead of a stage show, is that correct? S
Exactly. In other cruises, we always had a movie for pirate night instead of a show.In my experience, it's not unusual for there to be a movie running in the WDT on Pirate night. As many of the entertainment CMs are involved with the pirate night events on deck.
