Does anything special happen in the MDRs on pirate night? The menu is not super appealing to us so we are considering skipping it that night unless we will miss out.

We were in Royal Palace, nothing happened. I THINK there are sketches in AP on Pirate night but that's all as far as I know.

There were cool animations on all the screens at Animator's Palate that night, just stills. But really added to the feel of the night, which we loved. But nothing 'went on'

I will also point out that if you are planning on going to the buffet for dinner, the menu there will have selected items from the pirate menu. It's not a buffet for dinner, it's a sit-down table service.

We were in Animator's Palate for Pirate Night in October 2012. We really enjoyed the music & atmosphere with the neat pirate pictures on the screens around the room. They have bandanas at everyone's plate and the waiters all dress up. The atmosphere is really fun because lots of people dress up. You can always just go for a little while and order one or two courses just to enjoy the atmosphere. It's a fun night.
