Pirate Make Over

Has anyone heard that they are redoing the Pirates Of The Carribean ride? They are supposedly putting in Johnny Depp's character and redoing the story to fit in with the Pirates Of The Carribean movies. The movies are cool, but I like the old ride do you think it will change that much?

yea, i think it will make it better, cuz the animatronics were out dated. It was kind of annoying when I was at Disney in March, everyone was like lets go on Pirates, or next we are going over to Pirates. I kind of wanted to tell them that it was closed.

Ok...So i got the part about were talking about pirates of the carribian but...Is pirates a ride? like a ride where its a big boat that swings back and forth? i dont know but ive never been to disney world but at a carnival tha comes to my town theres a ride called "pirate" so...clue me in?

pirates, is Pirates of the Carribean. Its a boat ride, but it doesnt swing. It flots in water, and it takes you through the seans of living like a pirate. And they are renovating it to be more updated and to make it more like the movie, but it should be almost the same just like 2 new people, from the movie.

Classics ROCK! If they mess with any more classics ( I don't care about Jungle Cruse though) I will protest and bother those disney executives until they change their minds!

O.k let me explain it to you. In Adventure Land there is a boat ride that shows you a pirate raid on a villege. That ride has been around since you had to pay money to go on each ride( basically since dinosaurs roamed the earth). This year they decided for the happiest celebration on earth that they would put in special effects and change the story. They will put in characters based on the movies that the attraction inspired.I hope that helps!

I just looked on the website. In DL it will open on june 24 but in DW it will open on july 7.

You ride in a boat and you follow a group of pirate's as they raid and pillage a small town. Over the years, the ride has gotten really worn out and outdated. So now with the Pirates of the Caribbean movies being so popular, the Disney imagineers have decided to renovate the ride and update it by adding in characters from the movies.

I have mixed feelings about the renovation, I don't want them to mess with a classic, but at the same time it definetly needs an update.

I like how you describe this! tropicaltree3 - there's a video on the home page I think if you want to get your own feel for it. It may help you get a better picture than we're laying out for you.
About the renovations I am really anxious about them. I don't mind the movie but I don't think the charaters will have a real magical and disney special feel. I don't know I hope it's not as bad as I'm thinking it's going to be.

Pirates of the Caribbean Opens Mid-Rehab

The classic Disney theme park attraction Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened during mid-rehab to accommodate Peak Season crowds. At this time no noticeable changes to the attraction have been done. The attraction will be open from April 8-30. It will go back down for rehab on May 1st to complete the updates in time for the opening of the new film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. At which time Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa will be woven into the attraction's most familiar scenes. New special effects will also be added to enhance the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park experience.

in dec my dad told me that if u like scream his name 3 times in the fire scene something will happen so like at the begining i asked the cm if something would happen he was like i have no idea what ur talking about and then when we were ready to go in the boat he came over and said "I wouldn't do it though" i was like ok but we did it anyway my mom could of swear she heard someone screaming with us or sumthin but yea its haunted by a worker who got killed during the building of it and the cms have to say goodnight and good morning to him i can't think of his name i think its George not sure though......
