You can buy some Pirate stuff onboard, but it's pricey compared to what you could find at home.

Don't know when your cruise is, but after Halloween sales are great for this. We made our pirate outfits by shopping at the thrift store. I have a white peasant-style blouse, with a black mid-length skirt. Made a simple "corset" and wear my hoop earrings with the DCL supplied bandanna.

DH wears his dark slacks, with a plain white shirt (unbuttoned midway down). I bought a pirate hat at Disneyland one year that folds down and packs well and make a simple vest out of black felt with gold trim sewn on for him to wear.

For our son we got some khaki pants at the thrift store that we rough cut short and paired that with a black and white striped mock turtleneck sweater of mine. Made up some cardboard buckles with wide black elastic bands for slipping over his black shoes, striped socks and he's good to go.

Amazon has pretty simplistic all in one pirate costumes that I'm sure cost a fraction of the price DCL would charge you

I bought white tshirts and cut off all the finished edges (neck, sleeves, bottom) to look jagged and torn. Bought red ribbon to tie around waist as a belt and wore black pants or jeans. Simple, easy, comfortable, and cheap.

Yes, we wore our costumes to dinner. The CM's were dressed up too. It was a fun night.

Another idea if you don't want to haul an entire outfit is just get t-shirts with pirate themes on them and some eye patches. DCL gives you bandanas. It is fun to see everyone dressed up though. Some go all out! People wear their costumes to dinner and then the rest of the night.
