I heard there was a pirate excursion on the lake for kids, it that true? Also does anyone have any info on it, like who to call etc. pirate:

There are two pirate adventures. The original one at the Grand Floridian which is great. Our granddaughter did it and had a wonderful time. I called 407-WDW-PLAY and got her set up for it. The other one is over at Caribbean Beach. Don't know the details for that one.

The Grand Floridian one is open for kids 4-10 years old. Takes two hours. Very nicely done and well worth the $35. The kids are so well taken care of and take off to find the pirate treasure. They have a "map" and debark at islands and, well, I was informed by the six and a half year old that "I can't tell you anymore than that". She was sworn to pirate secrecy.

The cruise at the Grand Floridian takes off at 9:30 and comes back at 11:30. Make your reservations ASAP because it fills up fast. Your child will love it.

My two loved the Pirate Cruise also, we also did the one out of the Floridian
and it does fill up fast. They get Mickey eared pirate bandanas and lunch (my son has a peanut allergy and they made arrangement for him) and they come back singing and with a little chest full of "loot". I was nervous about sending my 2 off on their own but it was great and I would do it again! pirate:

My girls 4 and 5 are booked for the pirate cruise from GF. They are excited and i have heard only great things about it.

There are actually three Pirate Cruises now. The GF one (which my kids loved), one at YC/BC, and a new one at CBR (I signed the kids up for this one for July). Its great fun and kids love it.

They are a lot of fun - DS#1 looks forward to them for every trip now - he has been on the Albatross Cruise (the one from BC/YC that goes into Epcot) and on the Pirate Cruise out of the GF

He likes the GF one since the lake is bigger and he can dream about attacking the MK as a pirate!

Cheers

My son did and loved the Grand Floridian adventure, however he got something a little different than they normally do.
It was RAINING the day of his adventure, but we went ahead and showed up because we were unsure of whether they cancelled for rain and stuff.
They don't.
Instead of going out on the water they went around the Grand Floridian with their maps and looked for clues to the treasure.
I was a bit dissapointed that he wouldn't get to go sailing. . . BUT he still LOVED it and it totally put him in a good mood for the rest of the day.
So, as a note, they don't cancel for rain.
