I'm thinking of booking a pirate cruise for my kids, but I see there are 4 different ones to choose from. Any opinions on the four, what's the difference, are they all the same?

I've never done any of the pirate cruises, but I wanted to give this a bump to the top for you. Hopefully another DISer can help out!

My son and his friend did this a few years ago and had a lot of fun. The cost was around $30 per child and it left from the Grand Floridan. It was two hours long and they were given a box lunch.

My son, niece, and nephew (then 10, 4 1/2, 7 1/2) did it last year from Port Orleans Riverside. My son said it was a little babyish. They stopped at French Quarter, DTD, and a couple of other places where they looked for clues as part of a scavenger hunt. At the end of the cruise the map they put together led them to the POR lobby where they found a treasure chest filled with (according to my jaded son), "regular pirate stuff," such as fake tattoos, gumball machine jewelry, and other small toys. Food-wise they were given Uncrustables, juiceboxes, and goldfish. They also were given pirate bandanas to wear. It was nice to know they were occupied and supervised, but it was a little pricey.

I assumed it would be pricey, but thought it would be something the kids could do together and give my hubby and I a couple of hours together. I guess I'm not able to book one until our 90-day window opens up, so I've got a couple of months to decide on which cruise.

$30 for a 90 minute babysitter isn't THAT bad....

I'm just wondering which cruise my DS6 would enjoy better. I'm have a hard time deciding between the on at GF or the one at YC/BC.....

That sounds like alot of fun! Anyone have any pictures they can post, or a link to more info about it?:worship:

I guess it felt pricey to me since I paid for all 3 kids (over $100 with tax),

We took photos on the dock, but the boat itself wasn't anything unusual except they flew a Jolly Roger flag and placed a skeleton torso in pirate garb in the bow.

My kids will be going on the Caribbean Pirate Cruise (we are staying at the CBR) on the 17th of Feb. I'll post pics when we get back!!

OUrs thought the same thing. It was "okay". Depends on the kid, though. Our friends son absolutely loves it. I agree that it is pricey for what you actually get.

My kids 4&8 had a blast!! Here are some pics!

Our son has done the pirate cruise out of the GF the past two years and has had a great time! :rotfl2: He enjoyed the treasure hunt and the (included) lunch! He even came back with a bag full of treasure!! We took plenty of pictures on the dock and were offered more photos upon his return.
As an added benefit, it allowed the grown ups a chance to have a relaxing breakfast!

My kids did the one from the GF. They enjoyed it. Gave my wife and our neighbors that went with us a few hours to enjoy a great breakfast in the GF.
