Pirate Cruise

We'll be heading back to Disney this August and my ds will be 4 1/2 at the time.
He got wind that there is a pirate cruise and has been asking me so nicely if he can go.
I dont mind sending him, but for those of you who have had your kids go, is 4 1/2 too young and is it an enjoyable time?
He has no problems when it comes to being w/o me or my husband for a few hours. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!!

Mine went last Easter at 6, 6 and 5. they all enjoyed it and we had a couple free hours.

Has anyone heard of the one from Caribbean Beach. It is supposed to be loosely based on Pirates of the Caribbean with Capt Jack Sparrow. I have tried to get my boys on a cruise for the last 4 years and was planning on getting up EARLY on 180 days out to get a ressie. But, now my boys are 8 and 10 and I'm afraid that they are too old. If so, is there any other activities that I can sign them up for to let them go by themselves for a couple of hours? (Quiet time would be nice for DH and me.)

OK what are all the locations of the cruise start from... and where is pick up?

The Albatross cruise leaves from the YC/BC Marina. The other is the Grand Floridian Dock or marina and then the Caribbean Beach marina. They all leave from and return to the same place. They are all 2 hours in length. You have to be there 15 minutes early. You will receive a pager too just in case! I also saw they just added a 4th cruise from POR on the Sassagoula(sp?) River. The days and times vary. If you call the dining reservations # they will give you the availability for each cruise.

well as we have 3 adults and another kid who will want to be at the parks while DS1 is doing the pirate plundering thing I guess Grand Fl would be the best choice... then we could have tea and meet up in the Magic Kingdom with Grandma afterwards

thanks oodles

There is also a Sassagula (sp?) River Cruise from Port Orleans. That one isn't a pirate cruise, but they still look for treasure. It is more of a "Jester" cruise. It sounded fun, but we decided on the pirate one. My boys can't wait!:cool1:
