My son will be 3 1/2 when we go to WDW in Nov. Has anyone been on the Pirate Cruise at the GF? I've read about it, but I'm not sure if he is too young to be left alone with the CM's on a boat. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Ages are from 3-10, so I guess it would depend on the child, also says needs to be potty trained. I am sending my 3 ds's in June, ages 4 3/4, 8 1/2 and 10 They have never been and I was worried that the 10 year old might find it a little babyish for him because it sounds like more kids are younger (maybe I am wrong.) Being alone your little guy might be scared if he doesn't know anybody? On the other hand they must take 3 year olds all the time since it is the appropriate age. Sorry if I added more confusion, happy planning!

Our three did it last time aged 6,8 and 11. The 11 year old wasn't booked to go but the CM felt sorry for him stuck with us and asked him did he want to come and help. He really enjoyed himself. Their only dissapointment was the actual boat, not a pirate flag in sight, but hey you can't have everything.

The group may be on the younger side or older side.
My DS (10) and DD (7) are on the June 24th boat.
I posted who else was going on June 24th.
3 ten year olds, a 9 year old, a 8 year old,
a 7 year old, and a few less than 6.

I am sure your 3.5 yrar old will be felt welcome on the boat. It's WDW. Most kids are polite and
curteous. The CM's will watch out for for your DS.

Just have to be potty-trained.
Also is your DS does not eat PB&J - call the GF
the day before and request an alternate. I am asking for a butter sandwhich for my DD. She hates
PB&J.

enjoy :)

Was the boat "full" when they asked your 11yo ds to join them?
My 10, 7 & 4 yo ds's and their 5yo cousin are going on the boat in September, and my 11yo ds has been a little sad that he won't be able to join them on the Pirate Cruise. I wonder if I should ask CRO if they are a bit lenient with the age restrictions?? And whether or not my boy gets to go, that CM did the right thing for yours - how wonderful.

My DS went Sept of last year. It was actually sold out but someone here let me have her ressie. There was a good mix on board of small and bigger kids. My son was 4 and had a blast. He got a red bandana for his head and a bag full of bootie (small toys, stickers, and such). The CM were great and I don't think my DS even noticed we were gone. Can't wait till the other ds is old enough to go too...some down time with hubby would be great! Have fun!

I am not use to all of these codes yet - what is GF? How long does it last? How much?

The Pirate's Cruise leaves from their marina.

My DS age 6 and DD age 9 did the cruise this winter and had a blast. As a matter of fact it was one of their very favorite things of the whole week. I was unsure of this activity but soooooo glad they went anyway. The CM's are wonderful. Just make sure your kids go to the bathroom before they set sail. The cruise lasts 2 hours.

My son - 6 - and nephew - 5 went a couple weeks ago. My
son would have gone alone - but my nephew would only
go with my son. So it depends on how the child would normally
react.

There was a boy that was probably 3 and he came back
sitting on the CM's lap. So I am sure they will adjust to
a child who isn't as comfortable. My nephew and son pretty
much stuck together - I don't think the kids really mingle that
much - though they are all looking for the clues together.
My sons favorite part was when the driver was pretending
to not be watching where he was going and almost ran
into an island. My son really appreciates good slap-stick
humor! LOL

Basically they head from GF to the poly looking for clues.
(They get out briefly at each stop looking for something
like a coconut with a hole in it - which has a clue in the hole.)
then they head to the Contemporary and then to Discovery
Island. I got the impression they actually eat on the boat on
the way back to the GF. As they exit they hand them a
goodie bag full of stuff. Their favorite was a squirting ball
since we were heading right to the pool. They played with
those balls in the pool.

It is great for them - they loved it. I think 5-8 is probably
the ideal age - but the other ages would still enjoy it.
