Hi to all you dining experts. Maybe you can help me out. On our trip in 2 weeks, all three of our small children will be taking the Pirate Cruise at the GF and my husband and I were hoping to have a nice, quiet, adult(!) breakfast. I have an ADR at Grand Floridian Cafe but have never eaten there before. Is it nice for breakfast and do you have any recommendations about what to order. Or should we try the mad dash to the Poly to eat at Kona. Is it possible to make it back before the end of the cruise? Thanks!

Hi 1000thhappyhaunt,
Our Children done the pirate cruise last october, and we had breakfast at Grand Floridian Cafe, lovely food and great service. I had the American Breakfast which was great. The atmosphere in the GF Cafe is very relaxing (especially with no children!) The kids loved the pirate cruise and came back with a great haul of treasure.
Enjoy your Breakfast
Robert

I debated between those same two options and decided to have a nice leisurely breakfast at GF Cafe. It sounds lovely and then off to shop in the GF gift store which I loved. Of course I will be stopping by Kona for breakfast that week also!

We're dashing back to Kona! We love dinner there so thought we'd try breakfast ... besides just the sound of macadamia pancakes makes my pregnant craving machine go haywire.

It is a lovely walk of about 15 minutes each way from the GF Marina to the Polynesian. On the way over walking is quicker than taking the monorail, and if the weather is decent more enjoyable as well. That should give you plenty of time for an unrushed breakfast at Kona if that's what you want to do.

Thank you all for responding. However. Now that I know the walk to the Poly is indeed possible... I'm MORE confused than ever. I have to decide between Tonga Toast and Eggs Benedict at GFC. How's that for stress? (yes, I checked the menus on Allearsnet!) It might come down to which place has better coffee! Any opinions? Thanks!

If you are going for the coffee, then you are heading to Kona! You should definitely go and try the pressed pot -- best coffee we have experienced at WDW! Plus the Tonga toast...for me there is no debate -- you are headed to Kona!
