I love the shirts from Maroo! One day I will have to get off my duff and buy the transfer stuff for the Big Give. I ran out when we went to Disney for Davy's 1st birthday. Then I could try making the shirts for someone else! We did the Mickey tie-dye shirts, the kids turned out great- mine, not so much....
You guys will all look uber cute in you make a wish custom shirts!! No one else will have anything like them! Thanks to Maroo!!

It was a bit of a downer, but Piper got over it really quickly, so I followed her lead! I'm starting to freak out a bit..more about that in a second.

Thank you, Jenn Isn't Maroo awesome? I wanted to do Mickey head tie-dyes, but her admission kind of threw that off the train! I wasn't up to adding one more thing to stress about 2 weeks before we left. We have plenty of shirts anyway..I don't know when we would have worn them!

So we had another crazy day here..After we got meds and schoolwork done, we went into town to cash our expense check & get traveler's checks, and get new batteries in our watches. Happily my bank did not want to put a hold on the check (you never know with them) and we were able to get that all squared away. The next stop was the jewelry store. It's a locally owned store that I started using when I was around 16 and working part-time. They will let you pay on things monthly (without going through hoops) and are just very nice people in general. Jim, the owner, calls me by name (Okay, I confess..I used to buy jewelry like some teens buy cd's and i-tunes today..LOL) and they all know Piper as well. So as he was taking care of my watch, Piper was telling him all about Disney and her trip, etc..the pearls she got last night and starts asking all kinds of questions about pearls..the difference between cultured and freshwater, why some are cream and some are pink, etc.

He takes Piper's watch ..a minnie mouse watch where her head bobs for the seconds.. and starts looking at it. Then he looks at me and says "Amanda..how long has it been since you wore this?" I said..probably not since I was 12 or 13, I found it in some stuff when we moved back here and told Piper she could have it when she was old enough. He replied.. "Oh..I wondered..because this watch winds..it doesn't use a battery!" Talk about feeling like an idiot. The head bobbing thing was broken, which was part of the reason it wouldn't work. Anyway..so he says "Piper, you just wait here." So I watch as he goes to a display case of pearls, reaches in, and pulls a strand out. When he came back he took her wrist and measured it, and then says, "This is too big for your wrist now, but you'll grow into it, and you can wind it twice around. But for now you can just say you have two pearl necklaces." And proceeds to put it on her neck. Okay..it was all I could do not to start crying in the store, as I'm sure some of you can imagine. We thanked him profusely and hugged it out, and we'll be sure and send him a pic of Piper wearing it.

Piper had homebound again tonight and then we went to my niece's school play, it was very cute! Piper loved it, and Kass was very excited to see her there! Tomorrow we need to go to one of the next towns over to get dog food for Gram's furbaby, and we'll continue the great leggings hunt. Can I just say that on Sun we're just going to stay home and sit on our butts! We're both getting a bit worn out from the late nights and such, and I don't want us dragging before we ever get on a plane!!!

I love to read these stories, but even more so, when someone is just so truly giving!!! There are so many sweet, kind, generous gving people in this world and b/c we have children with special needs we get to see this so up close and personal!! I am glad she loves pearls....but with all this generosity maybe she should switch her affection to DIAMONDS!!

Thank you, Cynthia! Piper loved the princesses on the shirt! I have to admit, once I got in the car, I was crying, lol. I'm hoping that I'm getting all the tears out now, and I won't have any during the trip, but I know better. I was crying last night when the ladies left too! Good thing I don't wear make-up or I'd have raccoon eyes the whole trip!

For leggins you may want to check walmart..they had some on sale last week there and I paid 3.50 for a pair of short ones for Gabby.. I know Justice and Children's place both have them but I think theres are about 7 for the short ones..oh and also check Family Dollar
