Glad you guys liked the keychains! Shrinkydinks are really fun! Davy helped me color them, so they are not perfect- but that's what makes them even better! He tried very hard!

Tell Piper I said "hiya!" too. I'm sure Aleks says hi too- she is outside currently riding her scooter. She is very envious of Piper's soccer in the spring too! She would probably like something like that, but I dunno- usually it goes into the summer here and she is gone then.

It does rock! I loove the camera..I figured out tonight how to directly upload to photobucket from the photo software that came with it..so very cool!! You will never know how grateful I am, Camille!

Jenn! We LOVE the keychains, and the homemade touch Piper loves soccer, but hasn't played in an organized league..we talked about doing it this year, but with her health lately I'm leary to do that.

Okay, first of all..color me happy! I figured out how to upload pics to photobucket with the camera software without going to the website...and I just uploaded 10 pics in less than 20 minutes..with resizing while they uploaded!!!!! It would have taken me..no joke here..at least 90 min to upload and resize at the website..I don't know what the difference is, but I am NOT complaining!! Now onto the fun stuff!!

Piper and I had been really excited about the party and having more time to spend with Jean and Mary, the wish granters. Piper has been planning what outfit to wear for about three days now!! So we spent about 3 hrs at Gram's today, Piper doing homework, and myself basically spring cleaning her house so the ladies wouldn't come in and think she was a horrible housekeeper (her thoughts, not mine..she is a VERY neat obsessed person). So we got that done, got through her homebound, and headed back to Gram's!

Jean and Mary arrived right on time, bringing the pizza and ice cream cake with them. We got the pizza and cake into the kitchen, *we had already decorated with the centerpiece and put out the plates and such* and I offered to take their coats. At which point Mary responded "Oh, we're not staying, we're just dropping everything off and going over some of the paperwork with you." I can't lie here, I was very disappointed. We purposely hadn't invited anyone else aside from my brother and his family (3 people) because my Mom's is kind of small. We were just very looking forward to talking with Jean and Mary, finding out how they had gotten involved with Make A Wish, etc. Also if we had known they weren't staying, we would have invited a couple of Piper's friends. Oh well..water under the bridge, no more whining about that for me, back to the fun stuff!

Jean and Mary had brought our trip paperwork (reservations, itinerary, spending money) and also some goodies for Piper!

A luggage tag with the Make A Wish logo:

A disposable camera for her to take into the parks:

A tiara, of course! (that's Mary off to the side in the photo)

They also brought.....

Her MAW tee-shirt and button, Genie stickers that Disney issues for wish kids to wear, a Genie photo folder, A MAW calendar (this was very cool), a copy of Birnbaum's Official Guide, a Fairies puzzle, and a customized packet of trip information for us that had all our reservation numbers, etc. We hadn't told Piper that a limo would be picking us up, and when Jean and Mary told her you would have thought she had won the lotto!! Piper said.."Everyone in town is going to be wondering who's riding in that limo" That should tell you a lot about our small town, because truly, when anyone sees a limo, people will talk about it for days!

Also in the bag was a small envelope from Overstock.com..Piper opened it carefully, and inside was a beautiful cultured pearl necklace for her! She wouldn't take it off for a picture, so I had to take one with it on!

She was absolutely thrilled with it, which just re-affirmed my enthusiasm for taking her to Japan in Epcot to pick a pearl. My understanding is that they have ring settings for $20 or so, and it's something she could keep forever. :love
Of course I had to get a picture before Mary & Jean left..

Just ignore the expression on Piper's face..this was the 3rd try!! LOL

After the ladies left we all settled in for pizza and ice cream cake, yummy!

All in all, we had an excellent time! Once I knew the ladies were going to leave, I just let it roll off my back and we all enjoyed the evening! Tomorrow we'll be down to 5 days!!!:

The pick a pearl thing is very cute. Maybe that's what I will let Davy get for Aleks when we go! She wanted on very badly when we took her, but she didn't wanna spend her money on it. Classic Aleks! That's a great present idea- and you're right, she could keep it forever! Good little bro present to his sister.

What a cool party!! Looks like Piper had lots of fun at the party. For the last 3 years, I had my wife (Winkers) do the pick a pearl. One year we got a pearl that had a green color to it. The other two were larger than average pearls. The pearls were about $18 to $20 and the holder was more. I got her 2 different bracelets and a necklace. Happy your trip is so close.

Have lots of fun and take lots of pictures.

I think at the very least they should have told you. I mean if there was room for you to have assumed they would be part of the party, they should have told you. In some ways it wasn't fair to you to let ou think they'd be part of the count. But like you say.... it's over and done with---- now, are you packed???
