Piper's Practically Perfect PTR..Wish Trip! 3/2-8...Upd Pg 126- TR Link!! Hooray!

What a wonderful neighbor! I just love reading about things like that, so very sweet.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! :santa:

too cute! :goodvibes

how sweet of your neighbors! it's things like that that make christmastime so special. i hate the hustle and bustle and shopping and traffic. but then something like this happens and it's just so heart-warming! i really hope the meds start to help piper feel better soon and that you guys have a wonderful christmas!

Thank you both. I know what you mean, Dawn..we went to Wal-Mart to pick up some stuff for Gram yesterday (she has to work until noon Christmas Eve and needed things for Christmas dinner) anyway, it was an absolute MESS. I literally had to wait for a parking spot, and once we were inside you could barely get down the aisles. Piper was already tired and by the time we got out of there with our 20 or so items it had taken almost two hours! We had both just had it. We were home for about 30 min before Nancy knocked and it immediately changed not only my perspective, but Piper's as well. It truly was providential in more ways than one.

Love the bulb photo! The neighbor story was awesome!

You gals have a Merry Christmas!

Riding the "vomit comet"? That's a good one, I"ve never heard before. Adding it to my metaphor list!

:lmao:

Evidently she booked a return trip, cause she was back at it again last night right before bed. On the upside, she did get through the night without any more problems. I've stepped up her sinus rinse to 3x daily, hoping that will help since I think some of it is sinus related.

I am stuck at work on Christmas eve... so I thought I would catch up on your report
There are certain sounds in life that are unmistakable..children's laughter, rain on a tin roof, a train going by, regurgitation... I'm in the kitchen when I hear Piper losing her dinner..I hurriedly dry my hands and rush into the living room to find that the sweetie had actually gotten the bowl we use during her treatments. I rub her back, try to generally keep her calm. She finishes, we get her cleaned up..and I see my jacket. *laughing* Generally I try to put it away as soon as I take it off, but I had groceries to put away when we got home this evening, so I had put it over the back of my chair. Apparently before she could get to the bowl, my jacket was the closest thing. I'm actually thankful..we have a sisal rug, and though it's very dust free, it holds odors very well. In the summer I just take it out into the driveway and hose it down (it's indoor-outdoor) but this time of year that isn't an option. So tonight I'm thankful for good aim! She's also running a fever again, I can't wait for the antibiotics to kick in.

Productivity Report: I've been working on the surprise package, just finished cutting out 67!! countdown chain links I had printed off the creative section of the board. They're black and white (no color printer, and our lib charges .25/each for color copies..)they came out very cute. Now I'm trying to work up the courage to go and tape them all together. So the ingredients in the package are:

1. Countdown chain from Christmas day to the day we leave.
2. Christmas themed stuffed Mickey
3. Retro Minnie & Mickey kissing snowglobe (plays We wish you a merry Christmas)
4. Guide to WDW For Kids by Kids.
5. Kingdom Keeper books 1 & 2
6. Pack of Disney themed pencils
7. Letter from Mickey attached to Alice themed.."We have some very important dates for you" pamphlet cover!

I have Tink wrapping paper, and also spent about 20 minutes tonight peeling Mickey heads from MHPC's. I'm going to attach them to the wrapping paper of the big box. I'm wrapping each item inside the box, with the letter on the very bottom for her to open. Only 3 more sleeps until she finds out!!!!

Something totally random....we know the neighbors that live kitty-corner to us somewhat well, enough to say hello in passing, have short conversations, etc. They know about Piper's CF and everything. So, I hear a knock on my door tonight and go to answer it, and it's Nancy, one of the neighbors. She had brought a huge tin of baked goods she had made, then hands me this huge bag, saying "this is for Piper, it's just a few small things." They're an older couple, and she had just put the things in the bag and stuffed some tissue paper on top. Once Piper was in bed, I couldn't resist peeking. Here is the random part..in the box was a Princess themed photo tin with room for a photo on the lid... an Ariel figurine music box that plays 3 Christmas songs while Ariel dances in a circle, and a microfiber Disney blanket. Tom and Nancy have no idea that Piper has been granted a wish, or that her wish was to go to WDW. It made me very misty, not just their kindness..but that they had chosen things that were absolutely perfect without even knowing it. Sheesh, I'm about to cry now just telling you guys about it. Needless to say, they will be getting a very nice thank you note, including the fact that Piper is getting ready to go to WDW on a wish trip and how wonderful and appropriate their gifts were. Okay, going to spend about ten more mins on here now and then start taping!

Two for one update!!

First part: It sounds like your surprise plan is just perfect! I can't wait to see her reaction.

Second part:  Sorry Piper is not holding medication very well. I hope she gets through the sickness in time for Christmas!

*groan* Wal-Mart was just insane. I went there yesterday to get a few groceries for Christmas dinner... it was so hectic! They also seemed to be having a food shortage! I couldn't find sour cream OR cranberries. I ended up getting dried cranberries (hope it works out) and stopped at a gas station for the sour cream.

And the whole time I was there... to get food for Christmas eve and Christmas dinner... I totally forgot to get everything we need to make a pizza.

:confused3 Not so good! Still sending Piper well wishes! The sinus rinse, is that like a Netti Pot? I have used them before for sinus issues with good results.

Do you have official dates? Did I just dream that they crossed mine?

I am so sorry to hear Piper is having a rough time. I hope the abx kicks in very soon.

The lightbulb pic was so cute! My friend used to stick out her tongue everytime she would consentrate:laughing:

After I gave the kids thier calenders last night my oldest informed me that we could have done the links:eek: That would have been a lot easier lol.

I just wanted to stop by and wish you a Piper and very merry Christmas! I am looking forward to hearing about her Christmas morning! :santa:

It is just like a neti pot except we use the squeeze bottle version. We normally do it once-twice a day and I just stepped it up. Unfortunately she was vomitting again this morning. I've pretty much decided to try to get through tomorrow, then take her into UVa to get admitted.

Do you have official dates? Did I just dream that they crossed mine?

We do have dates, Maroo..Mar 2-8. They're posted on here, but it's a few pages back..thanks to some help (Jordan) my PTR has taken on a life of its' own...woohoo!

Thank you, Dawn..Merry Christmas to you and yours as well..we'd usually go to my moms this afternoon/evening for a seafood feast, but have decided to forego it this time with Piper still being so sick. So we're settled in until late tomorrow morning, when we will go over to unwrap presents and have Christmas dinner.

What wonderful neighbors you have....it really makes you feel so :goodvibes knowing you have such great people living close to your home! I am actually taking my neighbor for my May trip....I hope we still like each other when we come back!

Thank you, Pamela  I hope you had a great day as well!

Came over to see if there was some news about how Piper did over the holiday, and am on pins and needles on your update about how the big reveal went!! popcorn::

Good evening, Liesa :) I actually typed in a long update last night, then it wouldn't post *grrr* and I went to bed. Piper was up at 4am yesterday, but she's still not feeling well at all. Her response to everything was very lackluster. I'm calling her Dr today to see about getting her admitted. She's not keeping anything on her stomach and this point I'm worried about dehydration becoming an issue. Once everything is straight with her I'll work on getting the video uploaded. She was surprised about the dates, and happy, but it was a very muted response. On the upside, her O2 sats are much better, she was running 94 off the O2, so not sure if she has flu going on in addition to her lung problems or what. My only pause about the flu thing is that she's been vaccinated for both flus, and really hasn't been anywhere that she could pick something like that up. I'll post after I speak with her Dr.

have read through your ptr and just want to say that piper and her mom are very special people and so deserving of this wish trip. so sorry that piper is having such a hard time right now. sending pixie dust and well wishes that piper is feeling better soon. take care.:grouphug:
