Pins/Pin trading/Disney Cruises

I wasn't sure which board to put this on, so I'll start here. Do they have a good selection of pins on the Disney cruise ships? Do they do pin trading? We'll be on the ship the first week in October. Do you think all the special 100th birthday pins and lanyards will be available there, too? Thanks!

There are mostly cruise pins aboard the ship. If a new limited park pin comes out the ship usually gets 6 or so which the CM trader will have for sale at night. Pin trading on my last two cruises was slow, maybe 6 regular traders and a lot of new people getting started.
If you are lucky you might get the new POM for the ships which is suppose to start
in October! Later in the year there will be a Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine pin.
Three new rack pins for the cruise are suppose to come out soon.

Thanks! There are a small group of us on the convention board that have been having a lot of fun preparing for DIS-Con! We've planned a few pre and post convention things since most of us will be there a few days before and after the convention. So, we self-proclaimed oursleves DIS-Con commando's.

I got started on the Disney Magic. The cruise pins trade very well off the ship since you can only get them on the ship..... (it makes sense, but I didn't figure it out til I got home).

There were some "real" traders on board, but it was mostly newbies like me. But, the newbies will trade with you for park pins because they don't have any yet.

I agree that cruise pins trade well off the ship, so stock up. The disney dreams pin had been a very good trader, as is the starry night.

On the Magic there is at least one CM who trades his own pins. I found some great ones on CM lanyards, the night of the Capt reception most of the officers had on lanyards. Lots of small fish on my cruise one very young fish had a lanyard full of great older pins. On the Wonder look for Sasha (if you are wearing a lanyard he'll probably find you.) Sasha is a hoot to trade with.
