pins in my carry on bag

i have read people putting pins in there carry on bags i just want to confirm that you are allowed to put your pins in your carry on bag we are flying out of buffalo with south west just wanted to know if anyone has had trouble with security and the pins we do not have any kids flying with us it is just me and my wife

but on the TSA website it says you cant carry any sharp iteams in your carry on is it some thing they just let slide is it ok if i have them in a zip lock bag im taking about 30 of them to trade we only get to trade once a year

You really can't do much damage to anybody or get close enough to hurt anybody with the pins. Don't worry, I take my pins with me in my carry on after every trip with no problems.

I have flown multiple times with my pin bags and pin lanyard in my carryon bag and never had any problems taking them on the plane. Sometimes when going through security they would be looked at and other times they were not looked at, so it's a 50/50 chance of that happening.

We fly out of Buffalo, too.

DD and DH bring hundreds of their disney pins in their carry-on's. Going through security, they are ALWAYS stopped, and the pin books are gone over page by page by page. Just takes time, they always are allowed to continue on with their pins after a thorough check.

As for myself, I pack 30 or so pins in a zip loc bag, and pull it out of my carry-on to go through the xray machine. I never get stopped.

They say they don't allow sharp objects, but they allow 2 inch long hair pins...disney pins are fine.
