We are going in October and my son, 5, is a World Disney World vey who LOVES the Neverland kids' club at the Polynesian. Will he also enjoy Pinocchio's Workshop?

Anyone here had kids at both?

At Neverland he enjoyed his time there almost as much as at the parks, but Pinocchio's, based soley on pictures, looks more basic.

I'd love to have a nice dinner alone with my husband, but don't want to put our son in "child storage," as the podcast called it, to do so.

It only works for mom and dad if it also works for the little guy. :)

I would also be interested in knowing if anyone with a special needs child has any input... (10 year-old DS has autism)

Can't speak to special needs, but PW is much more than "child storage". My daughter, too, did and loved the NC. She loved PW equally well and came out with lots of stories about all the fun things she got to do there. The CMs are wonderful, too!

I also want to give PW a thumbs up. My kids have gone several times, and they've always loved it and want to go back.

They do crafts and play games. And sometimes, they get to take an excursion up to a sixth floor balcony and watch the fireworks (with the music piped in too!)

Not sure where on the spectrum your DS is but my DS11 has Aspergers and enjoys PW. His social skills are lacking (he seems much younger than he is) but otherwise he will play games, is high functioning, etc.

Though I do have to say he mostly just hangs out on the computers and video games lol. Small price to pay (letting him do that straight for a few hours) to get a date night:) The board games, puzzles, art projects, etc (anything creative) he has zero interest in.

My DD7 also enjoys PW- she likes the arts/crafts, they made cookies once, games, movies, etc. She is pretty well rounded in her interests though so she's easy:)

He is not high functioning, but he loves the computer. I thought the small number of kids allowed would be a big bonus!

When you talked to the staff at drop-off, did they seem familiar with ASD?
Thanks for your input!

They knew what Aspergers was, yes:) they even asked if the dinner would be ok since many ASD kids are sensitive eaters (we paid extra for them to eat there). Not sure what other options there were but my kids were good with the pizza/burger/hot dog choices that got brought over from (I think) Storytellers.

Maybe someone else can chime in who has a dif ASD story:) but with the computers hopefully he would be entertained for a bit!

Hope this helps!
