When I got up this morning and I was putting on my makeup I noticed the outside corner of my left eye was pinkish. From the pupil over, the whole white part. And it kinda hurts to blink.

Now its 4 hours later and its red. Really red. And this is gonna sound gross....but it looks...juicy. :scared1: Its really wet on that corner of my eye. I have no discharge though. And it doesn't itch.

Do you think it could be pinkeye? Or something else?

I've had pink eye quite a few times in my life, I can't tell you for sure if it is or isn't, but I used to go to the Dr when I thought I had pink eye, but the last tiime DH brought me home that similasan pink eye relief and that really helped me. So maybe if you could run to the store and get that I don't think it would hurt either way since it is an over the counter medicine.

Good Luck!

When I've had pink eye there was A LOT of discharge. I would wake up with my eye nearly encrusted shut.

Hope that helps,
Laura

Personally, I would not take a chance with it and I would go to the eye Dr. as soon as you can. The reason I say this is because I thought one of my DD's had pinkeye once and it was really something else, with almost the same symptoms.

Could be pinkeye, could be something else. I'd have it checked out. You don't want to mess around with your eyes. you only get two of them.

See a doctor. Most of the time even they don't know exactly what it is, but will likely prescribe an eyedrop that will knock it out.

If it were me, I'd wait until tomorrow to see if it got worse or better, but today I would be *extremely* careful about touching my eyes. Only time I got p.e., the only way I could possibly have gotten it was because I was working as a dishwasher at a restaurant, and someone in the restaurant must have had it, wiped their eyes, I picked up their plate and napkin, and then must have touched my eye. It's the only transmission I can possibly think of, as none of my co-workers had it, nor was I touching them at all, I hadn't seen any friends recently, didn't have a boyfriend, etc etc... So it's easily spread (though in my case, a bit randomly!)

So be VERY careful about what you're touching.

And throw away that makeup.

I have had a few instances of waking up with pink eye caused by allergies. I'm not "crusty," but it's pink and painful to look at light. Try eye drops or crying it out.

I also suggest a doctor. Viral pink eye will give you the symptomatic crusty, gooey eyes, especially crusted in the mornings. However, I found out with dd11 that Bacterial pink eye doesn't necessarily cause gooeyness or crust. But hurts like hell.
