In the grand scheme of things it's minor but it smells NOTHING like it used to! I even googled it and apparently they changed the scent due to a shortage of pine oil. I will have to stick with the $1 pine brand from the Dollar Store until they bring the classic formula back!

Have you checked amazon ? I never cared for the smell of Pine Sol always felt it was too strong I love using Simple Green Lately it has been nearly impossible to find in my local stores Someone suggested I check amazon and I was thrilled to find a gallon size bottle This will last forever, okay a long time ;), as it's concentrated I think I paid about $14

I am disappointed to read this. Love Pine Sol, but only buy one or two bottles a year. I use a lot of vinegar and water and diluted simple green. Also love the scent of simple green.

I use pine sol diluted to clean and sanitize the garbage cans and spray around the boys toilet.

Ocassionaly, I mop with pine sol. Love the fresh clean scent of pine. Read about a couple of alternatives on the internet. Guess I'll have to look for those.

I hate the smell of Pine Sol, banned it from my home and office years ago. Maybe I'll have to check it out ;)

I like Mr. Clean , bleach and white vinegar

I can't stomach the scent of pine sol. When I was little and I would get sick, my mother would give me a bucket that was routinely filled with pine sol for cleaning. Needless to say, the scent does not bring back pleasant memories.

I have never liked the smell of pine sol. I love the new Lysol with peroxide. It smells good and it is not harsh.

A close friend cleaned houses professionally and she used Pine Sol because she wanted the houses to smell like they had been cleaned. So I gave it a try and hated the smell. DH asked me not to use it again.

LOVE Pine Sol. I was disappointed in the last bottle I bought. OP, I'm with ya on this one.

Try Home Depot. Here the gallon jug is about $10.

Thanks will have to look there next time I'm in that area only down side to living in the " sticks " at least a 40 mile RT for anything Sometimes with the price of gas though it's easier to go for on-line

Clean has no smell!! You are doing nothing but putting harmful chemicals into your home using that cleaning chemical stuff. We learned the error of our ways a couple of years ago and now use the Norwex brand cleaning cloths and water. No harmful smell.

I think my school uses something like pine sol in the cafeteria. This last year I had a study hall supervision in there last period. Some days I was breathing so much pine scent I could taste it. I hope the scent goes away there too!

I respectfully disagree with you Think about 7 dogs rain for the past 4 days and no end in sight Trust me clean definitely does have a smell There are also chemicals that are low tox and safe for the environment I think adults can make decisions for what is right for their homes

Me Too!! Hate it. It reminds me of having the stomach flu. Ulk! I never use it or much of anything else. we clean with water and vinegar mostly.

I hated the last bottle of Pine Sol I'd purchased and researched the "new" formula -- apparently, pine oil's gotten too expensive, so they changed the formula.

They've supposedly made the old formula Pine Sol available via Internet : Pinesoloriginalpine.com. I haven't tried it, yet. Pine Sol's Facebook page includes a lot of others who are ticked about the scent.

Pine Sol is the only product I never searched for a generic for.

If clean has a smell then what does clean smell like?

I agree there are low tox safe cleaners but they are few and far between and cost more $$. If you plan to clean with a chemical look into the MSDS (material safety data sheets) on what you are using. This is just my opinion but in my house we don't clean with any chemicals just the Norwex cloths and water, we have seen a big improvement in our health.

Ok like I said with a bunch of animals just water in MY home isn't going to cut it I'm passionate about many things just not this difference of opinion re cleaning and yes I also know what the MSDS is

I did do a search on those cloths you were referring to I do have an open mind to new things until I check things out for myself The company also sells a crystal deodorant Ugh no, to each his/her own

To answer though What does clean smell like ? pretty much anything over the odor of wet dog

LOL, I hate it for the same reason..except my mom would put a little Pine Sol and water into the bucket.. Ugggghh, Pine Sol immediately takes me back to memories of stomach viruses. :-/

I don't use any cleaner(pourable liquid) like that.
Swiffer Wet Jet for the kitchen floor, Clorox Wipes, Fantastik, and Tilex for any other needs.
I've called in sick to work once in 5 years. My husband and kids are the same way, so I don't think my cleaners are making us sick..
To me, the smell of clean is Bath and Body Works Sea Island Cotton hand soap, I'd be in heaven if they'd make a cleaner in that scent!

Pine Sol smells like campground toilets ( and not in a good way!)

Bought it once, never again!

Mr Clean is the guy for me ( one tiny glug)
