pin trading?

can someone please explain what pins are and how people trade them? i read previous posts and just wondering..

pins come in differant shapes and sizes and colors. they are metel and comes with mickey rubber stops u can trade pins with them on for safe.

Pins are sold and/or traded in all Disney parks and on DCL. Cast members wear lanyards (ribbons) to display the pins they have available to trade. If you would like to trade with a cast member you have to have a disney pin and they should give you any pin you like from their lanyard. However, they are only allowed to trade with children if they are wearing a green lanyard. Guests can also trade with each other but both people have to agree on the trade.

You can bring Disney pins with you to trade on-board, or you may purchase pins on-board to keep or trade. On-board the ships, pins are available for purchase in the gift shops and at the pin cart. Have fun!
