Pin Trading

I had the same experience with adult traders. The women in front if said she was done , zipping her bag heard my daughter say she wanted a pin and then said "hold on one more " and picked the pin my daughter wanted and walked a way with a smirk! Really? She's 4 and just upset her. Also you have kids are in line and I'm next then the parents just show up and push threw it's kinda of a bittersweet hobby! You meet some really great people and then you have to deal with some bad seeds:-/ I've also been there when they've had to put the pin boards away because of adults getting fights:-( real bummer!

I keep my keepers in my book and have my traders in a bag, because they always fall off lanyards for me. I like to look at the professional books but have never traded with them.
I think i fall in the group that doesn't care if it is real or fake. If i like a pin i get it for my own collection. I am not looking to make money with it. It is a fun thing and cheap way to have fun for my family.
I have never had a cm turn me down to trade. I still think mouse pins . com works well. Some ppl don't like them but they work for me and always have.
I checked e-bay and amazon but its just to iffy for me.

also welcome to all of you newbys this is a good post to read for info, and good blog to stay connected to for anything Disney.

We had the exact same thing! My DD5 was so sad and angry. Maybe it was the same person.

We trade with CM's and occasionally other guests; but we mostly collect pins as a way of documenting and remembering our trips.

We have pins representing each family member as well as other family and friends that have joined us on trips in the past. We have year pins for every year we've visited, pins for every park we've been to, pins representing holidays or special occasions that have been celebrated at the park and pins for our favorite rides and characters.

When we go to the parks, each of the kids and my wife wear their own lanyard with their favorite pins and I wear one lanyard full of traders as well as the "family lanyard" that contains a pin representing each person on the trip and the pins representing our past trips.

What are trading boards around the park?
Select locations (usually the shops) throughout the resort have boards rather than CMs wearing lanyards. It's usually a Mickey head shaped (bulletin-like) board where pins are displayed. You can trade with the CM manning the board just like you would if the CM was wearing a lanyard.
