Hi
Do they have pin trading at DLP ?
If so are theyre alot of castmembers with lanyards ??
thanks

Yes they do, and yes there are :goodvibes

Nearly all of the CM's in shops have lanyards including in the Disney Village.

Pin Trading isn't very big in DLRP among guests though, I did have a few funny looks from other guests when wearing my lanyard but if you just ignore them it's great fun!

I agree the best place for pin trading is in the shops. Each day at a certain time they also have pin boards out in the shop at the top of main street where the biggest selection of pins in the park are sold. I have done quite a few trades there including LE ones. You have to ask what time the boards will be out though as it changes.

Yes Pin trading is great fun. I'm quite glad though that no one asks me to do a trade as I don't want to part with mine. I usually do about six swaps just for the fun of it and just keep recycling them with swapping.

Just like doing it. I have to do it on my own now DS is 13 and I don't think it is cool anymore. He still wants to see what I have managed to get though.

i am totally planning on getting into this on my next trip. are there any rules on pin trading. knowing me i would do something completely wrong my first time and give up lol

There's not a lot can go wrong. You have to approach them very closely if you are like me as I can't see very well, so have to ask and they are very willing to show your their lanyard. If there is something you fancy just say could I swap this for that please, or words to that effect and there you are.

It really is fun and with Ash being so young she will be doing it for years and years. At my last count I have 54 pins.

wow thats impressive. yeah i think ash would love all the trading lol. i thought she was too young last october for character chasing but off she was with her book and her pen like the best of them :rotfl:

It's lovely to have a little one. When Jase was little he was so cute there with the characters. I often look at our films we took of him and can't believe how quickly he has grown. Although, even though he wont pin trade any more he will not forfeit his disney trip he still loves it. Although it is me now queuing for a photo and not him lol.

Enjoy Ash and spoil her, they grow so quickly.

awww but its true though isnt it. it seems like only yesterday ash was born and now she is two. thats another reason to justify my disney trips, must book another one *** soon she will be too old to chase characters :rotfl2:

We had some great and frustrating experiences with pin trading at DLRP in 2005.

There didn't seem to be many Guests into pin trading, which seemed to make for better availability of attractive pins on the CM lanyards. We also had a great time trading pins with one Guest who seemed to be from the local area. We had tons of WDW pins which he'd never seen before, he had lots of DLRP pins which we'd never seen before, so everybody was very happy!

We also had a very unpleasant experience trading pins with a pin shark, who was sitting near the main hub. I know pin sharks show up everywhere, but the dynamics get trickier when you're not operating in your native language, especially with young kids involved.

All that being said....I'm gonna stock up on pins for trading on my next trip, as many of my most-treasured pins were traded for at DLRP.
