Pin Trading Starts at Disney Stores!!!!!

Just to give some of you a slight heads up.... the guidelines we rec'd in the store say that pins must be in good condition -- not scratched or chipped. When we went to look at our Walt and Mickey's, both of them are scratched on the face because of being worn and then dropped into the drawers at night to be locked up-- so our Walt's are being distroyed, and I know one of the other stores here in the area had to do the same thing... all this to say-- the Walt's may not be on CM lanyards for trading, because we don't have them anymore

I understand that they are following trading rules from WDW, rather the the DL rules?

This sounds like it could be fun. I wish my DS was closer. I have DS's 30-40 minutes in all directions, but nothing really close! I may have to make some special trips, I guess.

This is what was written on a flyer my store handed me about pin trading. It sounds closer to Disneyland's trading guidelines as epoxied pins are not tradeable. Under these guidelines the Rocketeer pin is not tradable either.

TRADABLE PINS at THE DISNEY STORES
Cloisonné, Semi-Cloisonné or Hard-Enamel metal pins purchased at a Disney Store location, that represent a Disney event, Disney theme park location or attraction, Disney character or Icon or Disney film title can be traded.

Theme park operating participant or Corporate promotional partner pins (i.e. Coca-Cola, McDonalds) may be traded if they show a Disney affiliation.

The following pins cannot be traded:

•Disney Store award pins
•Disney Store Spirit Award pins
•Disney Store language pins
•Disney Store Guest Shop pins (“Puppy Pins”)
•Disney Store sales pins (i.e. Sales Quest)
•Personalized name pins
•Rubber or PVC (plastic) pins
•Non-Cloisonne or Non-Hard Enamel pins
•Epoxy-coated pins
•Buttons
•Any theme park operating participant or Corporate promotional partner pins not showing a Disney affiliation
