Hi All

im from Australia & have read quite a few threads mentioning pin trading. I am interested on how this works exactly, any help would be greatly appreciated :thumbsup2

I would suggest going to the message boards at dizpins.com. They explain how to spot fake pins and how to trade with Cast Members at the parks. Basically, when you see a CM with a pin lanyard on you can trade one of your pins for on of their pins.

It's really easy. Once you have your lanyard and some pins, you simply walk up to a CM and look that the pins he or she has. If you like one, then you take a pin from your lanyard and trade it with them. *** They must trade with you, with one exception...if they already have the pin you are trading with, they don't have to trade, but in my experience they did anyway. There were some CM that had pins on a side green side pouch..I was told by a CM that those were for trading with kids only. *** Be warned....this is adicting...but it is so much fun. I went online to Ebay and bought a couple of lots of pins there (much cheaper), kept the ones I wanted and saved the rest to trade on my next trip. Have fun.

I would second that comment. It IS very addicting. :scared1: They also have different color lanyards for kids only to trade from. Usually the CM's will let you trade up to two pins from your lanyard (with the exceptions already mentioned above). Just have fun and try not to get addicted. :goodvibes

Addicting...YES!!!

Buy some pins cheap on ebay....YES!!!!

Also I can't stress enough how much fun it is to interact with the cast members. We meet the nicest people and hear some interesting stories! It's just such fun!!

thanks heaps for that, sounds like fun, we're all heading over to DL in 4 weeks time.
So could i buy some pins from here in OZ non disney & trade them? or do they have to be disney orientated? :woohoo:

thanks in advance

They must be official Disney pins. Beware of fakes - such as Sedesma pins. If you buy on Ebay be sure the seller states that they are official Disney Trading pins.

Definitely check this tread out it will teach you a lot about what to look for
Go to Disney Collectors board and look for good/bad internet ebay sellers list

I just bought a lanyard and a lot of 30 pins off of e-bay yesterday! DD will be so surprised when she sees it when we get there and I explain what she needs to do! :) I love the DISboards!
