Just was interested to see how many people here were also Pin Traders and Collectors, perhaps we can share collections and favourite pins, etc.

:thumbsup2

I collect pins somewhat. I usually just get pins on ebay and trade for nicer ones at the parks. It's a great way to meet the cast members.

I buy packs from ebay and trade for ones I like in the park also.
I also have every Wall E pin, almost all Enchanted pins, and lots of UP! and Ratatouille pins, as these are my favorite Disney films. I display my collections in 12*12 frames on scrapbook paper in my extra bedroom. I also display my random pins on decorative pin display cases. Started two years ago, its been fun.

Picking out a pin, or three, while at Disney is one of our traditions. I love pins that have Walt Disney on them. I like to collect ride pins too. My favorite pins from my stash are a pie-eyed Mickey and Minnie. I got them from eBay. They are keepers though, not for trade!

Hi Astro! I didn't recognize you since you changed your avatar! I used to love that picture of your shoes!

I am mostly a pin collector, but a casual one. I have quite a few pins, but I don't get into the sets and all that, I buy the ones I like and/or ones that have some meaning from a trip. I display them on two large boards and am going to be needing a third one soon.

I love my pin trading! I often go solo and it is a nice way to spend the day, chatting with the CMs.

I love my villains!!

Haha, thanks! I thought that picture was getting a bit old, although I'm currently searching for a new awesome avatar...

My collection is about 500 strong, and I also have a bunch of traders, since I go to a regularly held meet not far from me in the UK. Currently mine live in pin bags, and I have 2 frames (working on a third) but I know one day I'm probably going to have a room full of the things! I mostly collect Stitch, Nightmare Before Christmas, Disneyland Paris, and pins related to the Roller Coasters, as well as anything else that looks pretty :)

I'm GhostInTheSnow on PinPics. That site a very useful tool!

I also agree that PT is a great way to talk to CM's, especially when otherwise, I wouldn't have spoken to them!

I'm what I would call a beginner with pins. I do collect, but the only ones I've bought on ebay were the Year of a Million Dreams ones (figured it was the only way to get them). I mostly collect pins that are Disney WORLD specific, resort specific, or anything with Eeyore

I love my pins and get more each trip, but am focused more so on the vinylmations now. I totally got sucked in. lol

I am an avid pin trader. I have about 1000 keepers and about 1,200 traders. I go to most pin events and love trading pins. :goodvibes Penny

Oooh, were you at Trade City??

It's nice to see that theres a big range of collectors here, and Nickibell, since Vinylmation is quite difficult to get here (even though they have just started selling them) I haven't got sucked in yet. Would probably get a DIY one and add it to my variety of other Vinyl figures :)

hey everyone! im Jeni and ive got about 200 pins so far. i collect mostly mickey and "hidden mickey" pins. i also like any pins that have to do with Walt :goodvibes
i recently got hooked on collecting vinylmations as well. ive got 5 3" ones and one 9" one ... they are really unique collectibles! :lovestruc

Love my pins. I collect Belle, Tinkerbelle, Figment and rides. Especially ones that no longer exist like Horizons.

I am not a big trader. I try to get a few when I am there. I have bought one or two on ebay and quite a few at the Disney discount store.:thumbsup2

Someone once asked how much I spent on my collection. I changed the subject.

I'm a collector, and my kids collect and trade. I go for the Mickey pins and special memories like the resorts where we stay, or cruise pins. DD7 collects the sparkly dress princesses and now that she has all those, she is trading for the toddler princesses. My DD9 is a tinkerbell fan.
Just today I bought fabric for covering bulletin boards to display the pins we collect. We don't like to wear them all on lanyards - too many and too heavy! I buy some on ebay to trade.
It's great for the kids to do the trading - gets them talking to the CMs and builds their confidence - plus it is so fun!

I have 2k? maybe or more lol pins and all kinds of others stuff from a Glass Slipper to Wall Art and Big Figs!!! If asked what my collection is worth I have no idea but someone recently told me I need to have my house insurance upped to cover its loss!!! Great to see new collectors!!!

I like the idea of collecting the smaller sets with kids. Even though I'm an adult, on our last trip, me and my sister (also an adult :P) would pick one of the booster sets, and then attempt to find all of them via trading. Was fun to do, and meant we were saving having to buy them!

I think the only set I've ever managed to finish is this:

These are the UK Cast Member exclusives in Stores, and the first time I have framed a set!

I keep saying I am going to start framing and showing off my collections but I never get the chance to do it. If you are around NJ, There is a group that gets together on a monthly basis called the Central Jersey Pin Traders. They have two big affairs each year. One is coming up in October and it is call Swap Till You Drop. It starts Friday night and goes to Sunday. People come from all around (CT, Canada, Florida, PA, DE, just to name a few) and it's a nice group of people.

I hate to think what my collection is worth. The last trip (the pin trading event) I picked up 3 of my Holy Grails. :thumbsup2 I was very happy.

I have some vinyls that I picked up to trade. there were some left after the vinyl event. I will take them with me to the CJPT meet.

That sounds great! Where I can find more information on this?

Sadly nowhere near NJ, infact, theres an ocean inbetween! Although I have heard about those meets and they sound great!

On the Disney Pincast hosted by John Rick, I don't know if they have a website but I think I have his email address somewhere

I would like to think of myself as a beginner trader. Traded for the first time while in Disneyland a month ago. I mostly collect Cinderella, Eeyore and pins with Walt. I usually collect pins for each park and the resort that I am staying at. I mostly get keepers, but try to get mystery packs to trade while I am at the parks. I too, have gotten into vinylmations and trading them.
