I am so mad! I just got a postcard with a PIN number on it for the fall and it has my MOTHER IN LAW"S name on it! My address her name! She went with us last time we went and they must have picked her name to send it to! I really don't want to take my MIL again!!!!!

How can I get this changed for the future? I definitely can't use this code now unless her name is on the ressie, RIGHT???

UGH!

I'd call and ask for the rate.

I'm of a different state of mind than most people. I don't think Disney should offer these pincode emails to only specific people. I think it's totally unfair and wrong. There are many of who are on all the Disney mail/email lists and have never received any of these promotional codes.

The PIN codes don't come just from email lists. Two years ago we got one at our address for with someone else's name on it--my then three-year-old granddaughter. Yes, she's very smart, but she certainly wasn't on Disney's email list at that time (or now, for that matter). However, DH filled out one of those cards at our local Disney Store, and put her name on it with our address. So that's what they do with all the cards from people who don't win whatever it is that they're giving away. So if you want to get postcards, etc., fill out some of those cards to win something or to get more information. Yes, you'll get lots of junk mail, but you may get a PIN postcard too!

I've done all that - I get more junk email from Disney than I know what to do with. It's simple - I go every year, so they figure, no need to give me a discount code.

This time it really angers me though. I really want to go this February, and I'm struggling to do so. At $954 for 8 nights, it's gonna be tight. Now, had I gotten that pin code that lots of others have received, I'd have no problem at all - Would have only run me about $600.

That, I find very unfair.

I'm sure you already know this but if you are going in Spring the new codes that are supposed to come out on 11-3 should help you.

Heres to some extra pixie dust for you!

I think it is kinda crazy too! I think at the very least I should be able to use this code since it has my address on it! I may just call but I really want to go in the spring anyways!

Thanks.

My plan is to go from February 4-12, which is EXACTLY when this code is good for. I'll keep my eyes and ears open for that code. I just pray it's the same as the pincode going out. It could mean the difference between going and not going.

Wow a postcard! I have been getting them for the last 3-5 years and of course, when we plan to go this year, I haven't gotten one. Maybe there is still hope!!!

I would call and ask, since it's your address.

Try calling. Several years ago we made reservations for friends going at the same time as us with our AP discount. Then we started getting postcards at our address with their name on them. They weren't going back, but we were, so I called and got a wonderful CM who let us use it. You may get lucky!

Please let me know how this turns out for you. I had the same problem last fall. A postcard was sent to my address with my sister's married name on it. And when I called, I was told I could not use it,even though I explaned she had never lived here with that name! :confused3

I have been going to disney since 1989 about 2 times per year .signed up everywhere and have NEVER gotton a code. 2 weeks ago a postcard comes with my DD friend's name and my address on it and she went with us 2 years ago and was 17 at the time. I think they only send to people that don't go

If the record in their system that has her name and your address ALSO includes your name on it, shouldn't be a problem. I always wondered why they are so adament about getting the mailing addresses for everyone, especially if one person is treating the family, but now (based on personal experience with this) I see why. Good luck!

That is EXACTLY what they do.

It really is lame. I mean, I understand the whole getting new business strategy. That's fine. However, you don't do for one and not for all.

In my company, if we ever offered a price to one customer, then offered it at a higher price (which does happen), if that customer ever approached us about it - No ifs ands or buts - They'd get that price. The bottom line is, Disney doesn't care about it's "guests". They care about getting new customers.

By all means, call about the postcard you received. I got one about a year ago that had a friend's name on it at MY address. I called and asked what to do about it as I wanted to use it and the CM I spoke with talked to a supervisor who said the pin was attached to the ADDRESS and if I lived at that address then I could use the code. I did and was never questioned about it at check in.

I REALLY don't understand the logic of these pin numbers/post cards. I have lost track of how many times I have been to Disney, I have entered contests with Disney, signed up for all their emails, ordered vacation planning kits, everything that people suggested. And I have never gotten a postcard. Shouldn't Disney reward those who are loyal customers and then worry about getting new business? I feel like a person who isn't familiar with Disney resorts and doesn't know what a good deal is wouldn't be persuaded to go because of a discount code. Disney is more likely to rope in us people who are obsessed and looking for any excuse to take an extra trip!

Exactly.

As I stated before, Disney doesn't care about their customer base - They care about getting more customers.

My son lives in my garage apartment and he received an email PIN code. I paid for his honeymoon trip there a few years ago and he gets the PIN. What an insult to me! Every year I get post cards and email codes except this year and I have really needed one as I promised to take the family this Christmas and need four rooms. I have four rooms at pretty good AAA rates at POR. Do you think I would be able to use his PIN? Would I get a better rate than $107?

Can't hurt to call and ask - that's what I did and got the use of the post card discount even though it was sent in a friend's name to MY address.

You should call them and explain. I did this last spring and was told that the code was next to my name in the computer. The gladly booked my room even though the card was for my SIL who had never been there.

I received a PIN postcard at my address with a stranger's name. The first time I called, the CM said I couldn't use it. I tried back the next morning, and a supervisor said yes! Just received my confimation. All is in order.
The moral of the story: Keep calling back until you get the answer you want!

Interesting. I can't really even tell you how many times we've been to WDW as my folks used to have a condo for years near Orlando and we'd pop over for a day or two all of the time. We've stayed offsite and onsite countless times, not to mention all of the Disney merchandise I've purchased through the years.

I'm probably on every single Disney list ever created somewhere, including the DVC list when we took that tour and I've never gotten a PIN code either.

I'm the one who always books the trips and uses my credit card to book and pay for everything, so if my kids or parents would get a pin code at MY address and I was told I couldn't use it, I'd be beyond livid!

I'm also pretty sure that by the time everything was said and done, I would be using that PIN code! ;)
