I got a postcard in the mail from Disney yesterday with a PIN. The postcard says it's for select Disney value resorts. At the bottom it says to ask about other resorts and room types. Can a PIN be used for any resort (Deluxe, Moderate, or Value) or just the resort category listed on the card? Right now, I have two trips to the POLY booked but would not be opposed to booking another one for MNSSHP or MVMCP. However, I'm not entirely interested in staying at a value resort. I like the convenience and amentities offered at the Deluxe resorts.

I hope you get your postcard really soon! I have two trips for 2008. But I think I need to go just once more!!!
 
Not always, but more than likely the different types of resorts are available. Agree, just ask and Enjoy! :goodvibes
 

I called back and found out (from a well-informed cm) that it can be used at any resort as long as I go during available dates and in certain room categories. The CM also told me that even though the dates only go up to March on the postcard, I can use the PIN from January 6th through December 13th!!! Now to plan yet another WDW trip! :dance3:

I always wondered how they determine who gets a pin mailer. I've read its just random. The last I got one was the first year the AKL opened which allowed me to afford to stay there at half price. Since then not a thing! And since we have been going once a year(some times twice) for the last 11 years, I am wondering if they dont bother with guests they know will keep coming back reguardless. I was hoping they would better reward loyal customers a little more often. Even if its just one visit per year. I've never heard of guests that stay 3,4 times a year get any "frequent Disney points".

I agree that if you visit frequently you shoud have more access to discounts. Maybe they assume frequent visitors will take advantage of bounceback offers. I'm hoping there will be a bounceback offer when I check in on the 16th!

Do you mean ANY dates in 2008? I've got a PIN sitting in my recycle bin b/c we can't afford to go for the dates listed. I'd love to use it for either the December trip we're planning or a replacement September trip (easier to swallow the $ with free dining).

Guess I need to see if they are open tonight or call tomorrow. And hope I get a good CM, otherwise I guess I'll spend the day on the phone calling back a number of times!
 
I thought the same thing you did about the dates. Then I called CRO. The nice CM I spoke to said on select dates from 1/6-12/13. I'm assuming that would probably not cover holiday weekends, but I personally try to avoid WDW during the busiest times of the year. Call CRO and see what they tell you. Let me know!
 
No luck :sad2: All the CM could give me for late August or December were rack rates; I can do better with my AAA discount.

He did sound hopeful he could get me another pin, so put me on hold to talk to Guest Services. But came back with "reserve a room/pkg now and watch email for codes". Maybe my state will be released soon and I catch them on the phone b/f the card in the mail. He also did tell me my profile was checked for no emails, so another thing I need to make sure gets fixed........... I'll be calling Disney daily now!
 
does someone have a number to call a cm to see if i have a discount attached to my name?

when i was in disney, i filled out a survey, and was emailed another survey but missed it as i was too busy with school. I am bummed now that if i would have filled otu the survey t hat i might have gotten a discount.

i would like to call but dont know which number to call.

Although I got a PIN, I'm really hoping for free dining!!! I hope I'm able to find dates so I can use my PIN or get a great bounceback offer when I arrive on 1/16!
 
When we were there in summer, we missed the bounceback offer by one day i think :scared1:

In Dec. 2006 we booked "free dining bounce back" for August 2007. It would have been cheaper to have an AP discount on the room and pay OOP for food. IF they do offer free dining be sure to run the numbers with different offers to make SURE free dining is cheaper. Free dining means rack rate on the rooms.
 
I've never been told I could use my pin outside of dates, but I've tried. Figure it never hurts to ask, politely. I'm always getting codes for dates we can't travel. :headache:

Last year, I did get one for a package discount during our proposed travel dates. DH gets a sizable corporate discount on tickets though, so it wasn't worth it. I asked about a room only discount/swap. The wonderful CM hunted one down for me that I could use, saved 47% off at BWI and got the dining card they were offering with the AP code that was released a week later. She told me that there is usually something out there for everyone, but they are frequently hidden and it will depend on how the CM feels about hunting it down. Moral of the story, just keep calling back.
 
Some CMs are definitely more helpful than others. Some seem to know more than others also. I've gotten incorrect info on my PIN from CMs and the last one I spoke to was nice and informative.
