We are heading to the World next month and my DD already has a lanyard with some pins from our last trip. I purchased some new pins from ebay for her to trade on this trip and I was going to start a lanyard for my DS, how much are the lanyards over there, I have no recollection of that from our last trip. I saw them on ebay for around $10 with shipping but that seems high for that??

Why not start collecting some pins and let DS pick out his lanyard once at WDW? There are resort themes and park themes...who know's what he'd like. ;) The $10 range seems ok....did you happen to keep your dd's receipt from the lanyard purchase?

You know that your children can trade with a cast member and the cast member can not refuse. Good Luck.

We planned for DD to trade our last trip to DL and I bought some pins in advance so she could start. I let her pick the lanyard once we got to the parks and then once she figured out pin trading, she was off and going! On our quick trip to WDW this spring, she dove right back in and had a blast trading

Have your kids look for the CMs with the green(?I think they were green?) pin holders as those are for kids only to trade. Also, DD walked up to a CM and started looking at their pins and it turned out he had a brand new pin set out... it was really neat and he made a big deal out of her being the FIRST to get one of the set -- she ate it up!

I wouldnt suggest you get a lanyard. I have seen many ppl lose pins that way. They seem to fall off easily. Instead, i'd suggest the pin booklet that is offered. It zips up so you dont lose anything. They sell them at all the gift shops.

I agree about the lanyard. We stayed at the Poly acouple years ago and my kids were laying in the hammock on the beach. Well, didn't they both lose pins that we had just bought in the store. Could not find them in the sand and they would not replace them.

Since then we have bought the Disney pin "purses". The ones that zip up. We haven't lost a pin since.

Yes, the lanyards are easier, but with the cost of pins we would rather be safe than sorry.

.

Do you have a picture of the pin purse. I have never seen one. My kids always use lanyard but they can get uncomfortable.

The pins do come loose and fall off the lanyards sometimes - it can make for upset kids. My girls each have Disney storage bags for their pins, but they don't like to carry them (all their pins) around in the parks. So, last year, we made little pin-trading pouches out of clear make-up cases, some quilted material, and a caribiner clip. They clipped them to their beltloops and they worked great. If the pins fell off, they just stayed in the case.

i recall 7.95 - 9.95 in the parks. i think the disney store website has one for 8.95 so I suspect the parks should still be in that price range.
