Pin Inventory Question

We have a group of 12 (3 rooms) going Oct. 20-27, and were really hoping for POR with FD. Amazingly, my mom got a pin. She isn't always super quick to check her email though, so by the time she noticed it and we were able to get it applied, the only option at POR was a Royal Room. For my calculations relating to my immediate family of 3, this negates about half the value of the FD, considering we don't really care a whole lot about how the room is decorated. I'm still thrilled with what we have, as any savings is better than nothing, but I want to keep my eye out for a standard room just in case...

That said, when I browse the inventory for the pin, I now see POR completely sold out. I also keep hearing that the pins get released in waves over a period of several months. So, is it fair to assume that more inventory will likely be released for the next wave of pins, and that I might be able to grab a standard if I call in as soon as the next wave of pins goes out? Do all pin waves typically feed off the same inventory? If so, have they historically let resorts stay sold out this early in the pin waving process?

Also, does anyone know if inventory is adjusted in real time, or do they only adjust at one time. For example, if I log on tomorrow and see POR standard available, do I have some time to coordinate with the rest of my group? Or am I best to log on at midnight or 6 AM, or whenever and get it booked?

Normally, they have a certain number of rooms set aside for a certain PIN and once those are gone, they are gone. Something out of the ordinary would have to happen for them to add more to the PIN inventory. Like a couple hundred cancellations for example. Even if someone cancels a reservation made with a PIN, that room does not automatically go back into the PIN inventory.

All that was available when i booked with the PIN going the same week was the royal rooms. I dont think they hold any rooms back. POR is a popular resort and probably will book up regardless of free dining PIN's or not
