So, Thursday of last week I received a free dining pin for my EXACT dates this fall. The problem? It's tied to my parents name/address! This is amazing to me, as they have never travelled to Disney together, and neither of them has been there without me! The last name is obviously my maiden name and the address is where I lived before I was married. I am devastated that I probably am unable to use it and so worried that free dining will not be released this fall for my dates! Anyone have any suggestions?

The PIN won't work unless you live within the household or the household is a part of the reservation.

Therefore, your only option at this point is to have one of your parents accompany you on your trip.

...however, the current PIN discount could be released in July as a GP offer.....so wait 'til at least then to start being devastated. :goodvibes

I see where you are coming from and find it frustrating.
I made reservations for 3 rooms for our 2011 trip - all for separate groups of my family. All rooms and reservations were made through my account and everything was paid for with my charge cards. Later I get a PIN with my sisters name and address. They have her name and address because it was one of the rooms I booked, but it is attached to my e-mail and my Disney account.
Just had to vent about that - I find it frustrating that they don't direct the PINs to the persons who made the reservations.

It can't hurt to try. Two years ago I received a PIN in my brother's name and address. I called and was able to use it.

that happened to me a few years ago and it was such a bummer!!

My sister who hasn't been to WDW in 3 yrs, got a FD pin code last Friday. She is going with me and 2 other adult family members for our Oct 3-9 trip, but of course the ending date for the pin code was 10/2!! We are locked into those dates and can't change them and we have our plane tickets which we got for a steal. I took a chance and called the airline, United, to see if we could change our flights to Oct 2nd. Well, leaving on the 2nd would cost more in airline fare and they would charge us $150 each to change our dates. That figured out to over $1000 increase in our airfare alone so that would pretty much wipe out any savings FD might make....we are all still looking forward to our trip, even without any discounts

What about changing airfare for your sister only and having her arrive on the 2nd to check in?

Thanks for the idea, but my sister hates to fly and cannot see her flying by herself:):) Would be a great if we could make it happen, but doen't look like it would happen :)

I would call to see if they will let you use it since it is made out to you, pre-marriage and your old address. My dad gets pins all the time and he has never been to Disney World. We were able to use his pin one of the times my mom traveled with us, as she was a member of his household.

Good luck!!

I called in once and was allowed to use a PIN that was addressed to my mother-in-law. I just told the dude that she wasn't going to use it and asked if I could instead. He said that would be fine.

just use the pin code online and let the info be mailed to the other address. I used my sisters pin code online using our account it used me as billing and hers as mailing. It went thru just fine and she is not on the res anywhere.:cool1:

They usually are in the last name in emails. You could call and tell them that you got married and moved and they will probably use it.
My friend just got one with her old address and her married name. She has moved and is divorced and they still applied it.

I had not thought of that... I could easily get the travel documents, they live just up the road. Don't they require a photo id with that address when you check in? And my married name is different now, so doesn't match my parents last name. Can that be worked around?

You do have to show photo ID at check in.

I am so confused. I have ALWAYS read that pins are non transferrable and figured that was true, because it makes sense. But I have read in many posts this time that people are just calling and getting their name or address corrected?? If they have always been like that, I could have used my parents' pins for other trips as they get them all the time. Now if they would just get this one. They are going with us this trip, so no doubt we can get it applied to all 3 of our rooms. :thumbsup2

If it comes to your email address you have a better chance of it working.

Same here...

I booked a trip for my parents and ended up on my work email address. So I'm now getting PINs in my email but with my parents name/address/phone.

Note that in my case, my dad and I have the same name. I could easily just book it online and have them ship the paperwork there. But my concern was about check in - Do they verify the PIN was for the 'address' or is name good enough?

I am waiting for the new set of PINs for the end of the fall as I am definitely interested in taking advantage of it.

Can you book it and then 'change the address'?

They do not verify pins at check in. Do you have a link in the email. I "think" you can go in and change the address there, but I am not positive about that. Many times even if you call to change the address, it doesn't change.

It took me about 5 years to get my address entirely right with Disney, a few years ago. Every time I called, I would tell them, the CM would say they changed it, and the next time, it would come up as something wrong on their screen. Just about when I quit caring, it was right.
