What is the deal with pin codes, I mean how does Disney decide to give them out? Is it from booking at resorts through Disney on Disney property? All I seem to get is the general flyers about regular discounts offered on the website?

I think there would be a lot of happy people if someone knew the answer to that question, but I don't think anyone does.

My theory is that they are targeted at vacationers that may be on the edge of deciding to book a vacation.

Between 2003 and 2008 I got snail mail pins all the time....we weren't traveling to Disney during those years because our focus was on creating our family, but when we started going again in 2009, the pins stopped.

We had gone quite a bit before our "Disney draught", and never received pins then either.
