PIN code question!

Hoping someone can help me with this question!! I recently received the 20,30,40 pin code via e-mail (First PIN ever!!). I am looking to go back to WDW the second week of Dec 2010. If i book a trip now using the PIN, and come September (b/c of college school sched) i am not able to go, and need to cancel...will i be able to use the PIN for possible different dates and/or a different resort? Or does the PIN "disappear" b/c i am cancelling the trip package? Also, if i have to cancel the trip in September...does anyone know how the refund policy works? Do i get all the money already spent...back, or do i lose a portion of it? Thanks for your help!!

I believe that you may re-apply the PIN to another reservation, but I am not 100% certain.

As for refunds on packages - up to 45 days out, you can cancel without penalty. From 44 days down to 7 days in advance, there is a $100 cancellation fee. 6 days or less in advance brings a $200 penalty. Otherwise, you get your money back (be warned: it can take a week or more to get credited back to your card).

Note that the above fees are above and beyond the travel insurance you have purchased (if any). Travel insurance is nonrefundable.

Changes to rates (such as applying a discount code, or changing resort types) inside the 45 window can bring a $50 change fee.


Rules on room-only reservations are different - namely, you must pay one night's stay as a deposit (instead of the flat $200), and the rest is due at check in (instead of 45 days out, as with packages). However, you incur no penalty whatsoever for changes/cancellations until 5 days of your arrival.

PP is correct, I've actually cancelled and rebooked once already with that exact pin. Congratulations that is a great deal!

Look at the bottom of your pin. There should be an expiration date on it. That is how long you have to make a new reservation using your pin.

I don't know what the fees are to change a reservation.

I got that PIN and am actually planning two trips to the World this year. I could apply the PIN to both trips. So, I would say that the PINs are reusable, and you could apply it to another trip if you had to cancel.

That would be because most of the those answering the phones don't know any more than we do sometimes.

I am sure you can use it more than once. Up until the time it expires. I believe you can use towards three rooms connected to your reservation [you are responsible for down payments] in your name during a single trip. It is the changes after the expiration date I don't know much about.
