Pin Code problem with AAA Travel Reservation

I received a pin for free quick service dining. I called Disney and they told me I had to call AAA. I called AAA and they said I had to drop the AAA discount to use the code and I would have to pay an additional $331. This doesn't make sense because when I booked with AAA, they were the same price as booking with Disney online.

Can anyone explain what is happening here?

I booked a value resort for 8 nights using the Winter/Spring special pricing. I believe I received 30% off the room rate.

You can't combine discounts. So, Disney was telling you you had to call AAA to cancel your old deal and make the new deal. In this case, the room discount was $331 more than paying full rack rate with free quick service dining.

How many people are in your party? Number of kids vs. adults could make a difference. Did you have the dining plan already in your price, or was your original reservation for a room only, or room and tickets only?

That could help us help you figure it out.

The reason you had to call AAA is because you booked through them. When you book through a travel agent, the 'own' your reservation. It is in a sense booked under the travel agent. Disney supposedly can not access it for you.

Did you have a package with tickets booked originally? What kind of tickets? Did you have dining originally? When are you going? How many people are in your group?

AAA booked your reservation and probably booked the 30% off General Public code for you since that was better than the AAA discounted room. You simply had AAA book the reservation you could have made online. That is why it was the same price.

Now if you want to book with your QS PIN you need to cancel your AAA reservation. They can rebook with your pin, but I would simply have Disney book it. Not sure why you went with AAA , but keep with them if it is important to you.

The reason why you have to pay more would be based on what you had prior. For a Value room, I doubt the room discount of 30% is more than free dining depending on who you have in your room (small kids vs. "kids" that are over 10).

As stated you cannot use two discounts, so pick which one works better for you. If I were you I would call Disney and ask them to price out your trip with the PIN Code. Then compare to the AAA package. Go with which one is cheaper. If you decide to go with Disney, just cancel the AAA package.

Good luck! Hope the PIN works out for you!
