Pin code for summer received yesterday...

DH received a pin code via snail mail yesterday. Unfortunately we can't use it as we are traveling in October. It was for travel dates 6/1/15 through 8/27/15, book by 6/1/15. The offer was 30% off your room for deluxe, 20 for mod, and 10 for values and add park hopper for free to a 5 day ticket. Typical resort exclusions - AOA LM room and POFQ.

This is the third time in two years that DH has received a pin code via snail mail, which is ironic because I'm the lead guest on all reservations and I always use my MDE login to book, make ADRs, etc. He's just part of my travel party on MDE. No rhyme or reason to these pin codes! Keep your eyes peeled!

Isn't that usually the deal given on the web site for summer anyway? That was the deal we got last year in August. The park hopper is a nice addition, though.

The public offer comes out later and does not include the park hopper for free. That's what makes it a unique offer pin code.

Pin code veterans - I have been trying really hard to get a pin code. If I received this pin code, would it be worth it to take it or would it be better to wait for a free dining one? That's the one I really, really want. We aren't going at a time in which it would be likely free dining would be offered. We're looking to go for a week - sometime during the dates of August 15-24.

There's no guarantee a free dining code will come out. If you happen to receive a pin code via email/mail I would apply it to a reservation and then if another code comes out via general public which is better for you - you can apply that one instead.

kbmartin, a lot of people are finding luck with the "magical labor day vacation" deal that one of the travel companies was offering for your time period. Try to google it and see if the quote comes back to your liking. We got the summer pin code and the current deal we had beat the pin code by a ton of money.

I am pretty sure because your DH is not the lead guest on all of your trips, that could be part of the reason why they send it in his name and not yours.. When they see that someone is in their system and books trips they don't really have to entice you to book but they will entice someone who isn't seen as a lead guest in their system. My mom always books her trips and is the lead guest and every single pin they get in the mail is under my stepdads name.. always! Lol

10% on a Value? Isn't it usually 15% general public and 20% Annual Pass?

Thanks. Not sure what the public offers usually are, but pin codes can and do vary from the public offer. I suspect they "make up" for the room discount by offering the free park hopper with the pin code.
