I have read conflicting information about getting the pillowcases signed by the characters. One thread I had read said they discontinued this, while others said pack the sharpies and the case so you can get it done. I leave next week and was wondering what the answer is. Can anyone help????

I would pack it just in case since they won't take up too much room. But I have also read where they discontinued that.

"Sharpies" are the brand name of the most popular brand of permanent markers. They are made by "Sanford" corp. and available in virtually every grocery store in the office supply section, and in every office supply store.

They have become very popular to use for autogrpahs, due to their permanence.

I believe they just introduced a "gold" color for marking on dark surfaces, like footballs, etc.

Sharpies is the brand name for permenant markers. There is also markers just for writting on fabric, I think either would work well.

We went in june and I spoke to the guy in charge of the character appearances. He told me that them not signing anymore was a rumor on the internet and if I brought something to guest services they would be happy to sign. I did not really bring anything as I thought they didn't do it, but found 2 tshirts. I brought them to GS in a ziplock with our room number on it and they happily took it. They did not need a sharpie as I'm sure they have tons of them. I went back a few days later and they were waiting for me and were signed beautifully. Hope this helps.

Thank-you for sharing that!!

I was just thinking how I would love to have the characters sign something for my kids without them knowing it....now I know how!!

Thank-you ever so much!!

And at least in So. Cal, Sharpies are on sale at Target this week, 2 @ $1 :)

Hi There,

We went in April, and I honestly attempted to get the pillow cases signed.

Unfortunately by Thursday I still had no luck in getting them completed. I went to guest services and explained that I had made an honest attempt and they were more than willing to accomodate. I had both pillow cases in a zip lock bag that included the Sharpie. I had indicated our room number as well as our Family name.

They turned out GREAT!!! I do not regret it one bit.

Here's a hint if you are talented with a sewing machine or can get someone to stitch your cruise date as well as the child's name..It makes a great souvenir. I am not talented and have not had the time but will be taking it to the store to get this done. I had read it here on the boards and thought that was a terrific idea.

Have a wonderful trip..enjoy every magical moment...I still dream about our Disney cruise and am thinking about booking our next:)

Below is a close up photo of a pillow case that I made for two young boys who were cruising with their mother on the Wonder July 17-20, 2003. I received a thank you message from the mother saying that her sons were able to get the pillow cases signed by the characters during their cruise. This was simply made with an iron-on transfer, and made a nice souvenir for the boys.

I have heard conflicting informatino too, so I hope they are still willing to sign in November:rolleyes:

I'm bringing the pillowcase that I bought for my daughter. I'll just stop by guest services and ask if they'll do it. Hopefully, they will. I'm just figuring I'll be safe to have it with me in case they do decide to do it especially since it doesn't take up that much room in the suitcase.

We went on Magic on July 2002. I had previously purchased Disney pillowcases for each of my children, had them embroidered with their name, DCL, July 2002. I put them in ziplock bags with Sharpies and our room number on outside. Once on board I took them to Guest Services and picked them back up a few days later. They were great!! I hope they continue to do this for everyone's sake. It sure beats getting the autographs in line.

kajunswty, where did you get that airbrushed?? Those pillows are wonderful. I would love to do that for my two dd's for our October cruise!

Hope
