In past post I have seen that you can give a CM a pillowcase at the beginning of your cruise, they will then have the characters sign them. Can you still do that or did I just read something about them doing away with that program. I hope not I will be going in Aug and already have my pillowcase packed.

:bounce: :bounce: I hope that they didn't do away with the program. I was planning to do this next week on our 1st Disney Wonder Cruise (7/21):bounce: :bounce: I thought it would be a great souvenir to bring back to my daughter's step sisters(& not very expensive).
Just having a hard time finding the right pillowcase, I haven't been able to fing anything Disney. I'm going shopping tomorrow just for last minute vacation odds and ends with the pillowcases on the top of my list. Wish me luck.

What seemed to have been done away with was offering the pillowcase for sale through the DCL Magical Treasures brochure.

If you packed a pillowcase I think you can still bring it to guest service in a ziplock bag and request the characters sign it. You can do this with T-shirts also. When we went we were told it had to be a Disney item to be left for signatures, but others have said it does not.

do you have an air brush place in your mall? just bring in a pic of your fav character or the dcl logo ~ maybe put the sail date and whalaa!

or you could get some t-shirt iron on transfers - use some clip art and make up your own.

have fun:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Actually I was able to get the DCL Tinkerbell pillowcase for my June cruise. But it is so pretty that you wouldn't want to have the characters mark on it anyway. I did see that warning on Barb's site that someone was unable to get the DCL pillowcase but I asked the CM anyway and was luckily able to order one :)

Thanks for the heads up. I was just planning on taking a white pillowcase to have singed.
But now I think I will go and have Minnie Mouse tranfered on it.
VJmartin you said you were going on the Wonder next week. Can you do me a favor. Once you get back can you e- mail me and let me know if you were able to to this or not.

Thank you. This board is the best.

What do you mean you're going in August and you already have a pillow case packed? I'm leaving in two weeks and I haven't even started to think about packing!

minniegidget, could you post for all of us if you were able to do this? Have fun on your cruise!
Yikes, Cruella, is it really only 2 weeks???? I better get packing, too! :p

Yes - please post how you make out with having the pillow case sign during your upcoming trip.

I am think ing of doing the airbrush idea and adding a birthday message for my daughter and surprising her with the pillowcase at the end of her birthday cruise in March! What do you think? How and when do they return the pillowcase to you!

I had planned to use the iron on transfer paper and make a pillowcase for our "group" (3 families) kids to take and have signed. I had this OUT THERE questions though.........would Disney see it as a violation of copyright, trade mark, etc if I downloaded some clip art type things and ironed them on??????

Am I just CRAZY?????

It could be because it is less than two weeks until we leave and I have even begun to pack!

kml2000 - As long as the pillowcases are for your own personal use they won't have a problem with it. It is only when you use copyrighted items for monetary gain, or in a manner the company deems inappropriate, that you would have a problem.

thank you so much for your reply.

My daughter was at a two week summer camp a few weeks back and I took a digital picture of the kids with their counselor in the cabin and made them pillowcases to have signed (kind of like the signing of T-shirts that goes on now). I was sort of hoping the pillowcase would be something they would keep and not out-grow as a T-shirt and it would also have their pictures!!! It turned out ADORABLE and was such a hit. I wanted to do this for our upcoming Disney trip, but didn't want to do anything TABOO!

I am getting so EXCITED!!!

The Disney Cruise Pillowcase is now available.
I called the Disney Treasures # and apparently
due to the demand of the Pillowcase they found
another distributor. Call to make sure though.
I called about a month ago but did not order 'cause
not going until January.

Have not been on the boards for a couple of days and after gave
out the number to Timswoman found out that it is once again not
available. So I phoned, and guess what, not only is it not available,
they changed the Company Name to Gifts Ahoy!

Sorry for the misinformation.

But if everyone bugs them enough, maybe they will bring it back!?!?!

I guess it's off to Walmart for a regular pillowcase.

Can anyone with experience with the iron-on transfers that you print with an inject printer comment as to the quality. Is it something that will stand up to several washings. I would like to make some pillowcases with pictures from our last cruise to have signed but I would hate to do this and have the iron on fade quickly. If this is others experience it may be best to just buy a disney pillowcase.

Okay........NOW.......I had this thought when I made the pillowcases for my daughter's summer camp and I wanted to know of anyone else's suggestion.

If you give the characters a "sharpie" marker to sign with, the ink will bleed onto the other side of the pillowcase. When I took them to camp, we put a paper bag inside - but what about on ship???? Should we take a different kind of pen??? I thought about putting wax paper inside.........any better ideas??

The permanent sharpie pen is a good idea, but somewhere I read that they use their own pens. Either way when you get home, just iron over the signatures and that will set them in to the fabric.

To keep any writing, etc from bleeding thru to the other side, just use either the waxed paper or some heavy plastic (like page protectors).

The iron on's from an ink jet work fine. Just remember that you have to let them dry for a little while once they come out your printer or they will smear. Also, cut away any excess paper around the design.

I've used these ideas before and find they work fine!

Have Fun......
