After 2 DCL cruises, and an eternity on these boards I should know something about the autographed pillow cases...but I don't! Do you use a special pillow case, what type of marker is used for the autographs, etc. ? Thanks for your help.

I would like to know more about the pillow cases. I just made some for the ski trip with the kids names on them using transfer paper and an inkjet printer..pm me if you need some tips.

Thanks

I made an iron on using an inkjet printer (apd the special iron on paper of course) and put it on pillowcases.

I put them in a bag with some sharpie markers, and left them at guest services.

The characters had signed them, and the kids were delighted.

So you just put your name on a pillowcase and leave it for the characters to sign? Do you pick it up before the end of a 7-night cruise? What a cool thing! Does this cost any money? Sorry, I guess I need enlightened on this subject! :)

belle- I brought a plain white pillowcase and aset o [ermanent markers in a ziploc with my kids name and our room # to Guest Services. Characters sign the pillowcase and then you pick it up at guest services later in the week, they will tell you when. there is no charge.

Thank you so much!! We don't have any kids yet, but maybe they will do one for me! :) What a fantastic little suprise gift to have!

with Disney Characters on it ie: Buzz Lightyear, Disney Princesses and such and took them to Guest Services along with some Permanent Markers (sharpies) and put them in a bag with our names and cabin number on it. They told us to check back the next day and see if they were done and they were. My dd loves the Princesses and on the towel was Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and Aurora I think and each princess signed on their picture along with the regular characters like Minnie Mouse and such. Then our kids used the towels at CC and they thought they were so cool!

What a cool idea. I have been feeling overwhelmingly guilty about going on our cruise without my DD (age 10 and lives with her Dad in CA). My husband got me the 3 day Wonder Cruise (our 1st cruise- 2-26-04) for my birthday. What a wonderful surprise this was as we normally do some sort of travel during this time of year (just the two of us as PA gets mighty cold in winter) and we always take a big family vaca when she comes home for summer break (usually WDW-she gets to pick this year because she made Honor Roll-so that's a good possability). But when I found out about the cruise I had mixed emotions. I was of course elated at the possibility of this dream come true, but on the other hand I feel so guilty that she can't enjoy it with us. This idea for the pillow case will be one of the most treasured items I could bring her. She always likes something that is hand made versus store bought and I could turn it into a big over-stuffed pillow instead of just a case. (she used to try to sleep with her Pluto Auto-graph Hound and I made her stop afraid she would choke herself on the leash)
Thanks for sharing that wonderful idea.

I am painting the Magic on four white pillowcases for my two DDs and friends two DDs travelling with us. It will also have their name, Disney Magic and sail date. I did read that the pillowcase had to be white or Disney, so I decided to really personalize it by hand painting it!

Thanks everyone for your help! Much appreciated.

Just an FYI - We were on the 1/24 Magic and I took my pillowcases and tropical colored sharpies to Guest Services on Sunday. The CM said they would prefer that we try to get the autographs ourselves during the cruise, that you can imagine how difficult it would be if everyone on the ship wanted this done, yadayada. I sympathized but said this was a surprise for my kids and so did not want them seeking autographs. He didn't back down, still requesting that we get our own from the characters BUT that if I still needed some by Thursday, I could bring the cases back and they would have them ready sometime after 8:30 p.m. Friday. I brought my unsigned cases back on Thursday and they were done Friday night.

Will they accept anything other than pillowcases? I wanted to decorate (with Disney items) a small canvas bag (purchased at Michael's) and have the characters sign it for my niece.
