I'm new to the WISH boards and have been inspired reading your posts. I am 32 and a mother of a 10-year old. I have never had a weight problem.....in fact, in my younger days was always considered to be very skinny (sometimes too skinny). Even after the birth of my daugher, I lost more weight than I gained. I was truly lucky. Then, I turned 30. Boy, does everything change when you turn 30. My metabolism seems to be non-existent. So, now I'm needing to learn about something I've never had to do before - diet and exercise! I am a food lover and that words scares me. Don't get me wrong....I'm not overweight by any means but I'm not happy with myself at all (especially since my husband has become a health fanatic and is skinner than I've ever known him to be). I'm even being realistic by knowing that I'll never have my skinny problems again. I'd love to lose 15 pounds and be happier about my appearance.
So here's my question. I'm not very good at exercising. I have a short attention span and lose interest quickly. I know I need to exercise somehow and was wondering if anyone has tried pilates. When it starts warming up, I plan to walk and ride my bike but I need something to start off with. I've also considered buying some kind of exercise equipment.
What suggestions do you have for starting off?
Thanks for all the help!

, I would check out a local gym or "Y". The cost may make it worth it, considerig all you get. A nice piece of gym equipment can set you back thousands, where a gym membership for your entire family can cost as little as 500/yr. Then you have a selection of machines, classes, pools, saunas and on. Good luck in whatever you decide. You are wise to start now my friend. I'm 10 years past you and let me tell you, it never got any easier. You think 30 is bad, wait til you hit 35!
Get going while you still have youth on your side. Oh yeah! since hubby is a health nut, why not do something together. Tennis, or golf or hiking. Working at a sport with a partner has a much better success rate than going it alone.
