Pigs Feet

OK so this is way off topic and may get booted..

Recently there was a thread or RichYams and his great "life" on the DIS.

Saturday night I am sitting in my living room watching Feasting on Asphalt with Alton Brown and Alton comes out of a little roadside place with PIGS FEET!!!! I busted out laughing. My boyfriend who really doesn't get my Disney fetish just looked at me like I was crazy.

I know there are folks on here that understand

(And those things were GROSS looking, sorry Rich!)

You know my mother always made Pigs Feet when I was growing up. I used to love when Rich spoke about them and wondered if they tasted the way my mother made them. I often wonder if the two of them in heaven were eating them together. I figured there just could not be that many people in heaven eating pigs feet.

Personally, I prefer them pickled then cooked and eaten hot.

My mom makes them, eats them. Not for me, but she recently mentioned something about going to make them (she lives alone) and I thought of Rich! Her's are made in a sort of jelly, served cold, with vinegar.

Those are the ones I enjoy. I buy them about once a year in the German Butcher. Brings back my childhood to me.

My Mom and My Aunt loved getting pigs feet at a small Italian res in San Francisco. Never could make myself eat them.

Growing up, I thought pigs feet were great! I haven't had them in at least 45 years! Guess I should see if they are still available.

I saw that show and also thought of Richyams!! You are not alone!
And it was indeed gross. Alton did not appreciate them either.

PS I just love Alton Brown. His shows are great.

Yes, I had pickled pig's feet as a kid. My dad would buy the jellied, vinegar kind in the jar for New Year's eve. They were eaten cold.

I miss Rich, although Rinkwide is entertaining too.

My grand-mother would put them in her red gravy. It was pretty much nothing but pork fat.
