Does anyone know of any good places to stay in the Smokies, near Pigeon Forge? We are thinking of going during spring break, the week of March 19. There will be 6 of us, and it would need to be reasonably priced. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alisha

We live about two hours away and always rent through Volunteer Cabin Rentals. The cabins are about 15 minutes out of Pigeon Forge, actually up in the mountains, and the cabins are all very new and nice.

We were just there this past weekend, in fact. We stayed in the cabin called Bear Hug. I highly recommend Volunteer. The prices are much better than some of the other places.

Enjoy your visit to Tennessee!

We liked the Comfort Inn and Suites at Dollywood Lane when we stayed there a few years ago. The rooms and breakfast were nice, the location was great and it looks like the rates are reasonable for your dates.

Our favorite place to stay is Gatlinburg Falls Resort. We're staying again in May. I'm too new to post a link, but it's at gatlinburgfallsresort.com. It's peaceful and quiet there, but still close to the attractions of downtown. It's not cheap, but when you consider that you get a full kitchen and a grill so you can eat some meals in your cabin, that saves a lot. Plus most of the cabins have video games, game tables and a hot tub, so you might not need to visit as many pricey attractions. Many of the one bedroom cabins have sleeper sofas or bunk beds for kids, or if you're vacationing with others, you might be able to split the cost of a two or three bedroom cabin. The cabin we had was even nicer than it looked in the pictures.

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is probably our second favorite place to go, next to Disney World of course. Have a great time!

I like OhhBother's idea. Rent a cabin in Townsend. That way, you're not always completely inundated with the Pigeon Forge glitz and schlock. From Townsend, you have direct access to some beautiful parts of the national park.

We used this outfit and got a great cabin for a week:

We were in Pigeon Forge twice, and both times we rented a cabin through cabinfever.com - both times we got a lovely cabin with a jacuzzi, hot tub, lovely porch with rocking chairs, etc. Can't go wrong with this place imo!

Oh yeah. The jacuzzi on the balcony overlooking the Smokeys.... uh.... uh.... I'm SURE they've cleaned it since then.

We are about 2 1/2 hrs away from there. I love it there! We usually stay at the High Chalet condos in Gatlinburg. The are very clean and have 2 large shared hot tubs! The mountain fews are incredible! You can also see the ski slopes from there. They are very reasonable. You can get a 2 bedroom with a loft for a little over 100 a night! Have fun!:)

We were there last year and stayed in a gorgeous cabin about a mile from the Dollywood entrance, but very high up in the mountains, so it was kind of isolated. We absolutely loved the area we stayed in.
