Does anyone have experience camping at the KOA in Pigeon Forge? We are thinking about taking a trip there next year and have narrowed our choice down to the KOA. We prefer a campground with full hook-ups and cable TV. We also like the location of the KOA. Lastly my son loves to play basketball, so I have to find him somewhere to shoot hoops or else he will go crazy. He needs his physical outlet! I haven't been able to find out too much on the internet about this campground, so I would appreciate all feedback especially concerning site recommendations. The guy I spoke with on the phone from the KOA told me you can reserve specific sites.

TIA.

The location is great, bathrooms were filthy. It was ok, but nothing to write home about.

We stayed at River Plantation in Sevierville last April. It was very nice and close to all the Pigeon Forge glitz and glitter!

We really like the "River Edge" campground at PF.
You'll be amazed at the bathroom/comfort rooms,,better than Disneys,:thumbsup2,,they hava game room, dont think they have hoops but not sure :confused3.

We stayed at the King's Holly Haven RV Park in Pigeon Forge in October of this year and it was 'Excellent'! Believe me, you should be very pleased with this Campground! Very nice sites, very clean, very safe and the location could not have been better! Please click on the attached link to find out more about the Holly Haven Resort! I hope this help!

We stayed there in June. It was okay I guess. Sites were really small...as in TINY. The front bathroom was small & not so clean, but the one in back is better.

We decided KOA stands for Krap of America.

Thanks for all the feedback. We will definitely try somewhere else.

I used to camp in PF several times a year!

KOA - no thanks packed in like sardines
Holly Haven - Very Nice Would Recommend (have a basketball goal)
River Plantation - One of my favs (have B-Ball court)
Brookside - very small but very nice
Claboughs - okay, not my favorite

Staying in the Wal-mart parking lot would be better than that KOA. They have the dirtiest bathroom of any where we have been

I hear Rivers edge is nice. But have not stayed there yet.

We have stayed in Creekside RV resort the last 2 years. This was the cleanest campground We have ever stayed in. It's about 2 or 3 blocks from the main intersection in Pigeon Forge on us 321. The trolley/buses for Pigeon Forge stops at this campground. I would suggest reading up on the 2 trolley systems and using them (Pigeon Forge's and Gatlinburg's)

The traffic will be unbelievable on the week ends.

We were there in july and had a great time the bathrooms were ok Ive seen much worse. The showers were ok also but we always spray them down first.
The site was not that big but we did not spend allot of time on the site the pool was nice but only open to 9:00pm. They have a buss that stops at the gate to go to DollyWood for .50 a person and there is a park a few blocks way that is a bus hub and you can get a bus almost anywhere. We did not drive for a week. We enjoyed the KOA and the area but the KAO in Clarksville IN I would never stay at again.

I have stayed at Rivers Edge too, in the little cabins. Since no bathrooms in the cabin you use the comfort stations and all I can say is 'wow!' Disney wished they had bathrooms like that!:thumbsup2 One of the showers I used had body sprays in addition to the regular showerhead. Music playing in there, frosted glass doors on the toilet stalls, classy!
That being said, the sites to me looked small and sorta close together. And I'm not sure the trickle I saw running through the grounds qualified as a 'river.' The folks were nice and I enjoyed my stay, go for the bathrooms!:rotfl2:

Yeah, with land at a premium in PF I'm gonna guess pert near all CG sites are tiny.
